if butch leaves who would we even go after? Herman is heading to Texas and jimbo is heading to LSU so I guess we have to try to compete with FSU to get a guy like Larry fedora. Coaching options become pretty limited after that. Strong and miles have solid resumes but just got fired from big time jobs because they under performed. Then a guy like PJ Fleck hasn't proven enough to warrant getting the UT job.

PJ Fleck is next year's Tom Herman.

BTW, the national media escalated this. The majority of the headlines and memes are national sports sites. They would be doing the same exact thing if the coach of any major program lobbed them a quote like this. CBJ isn't going to be immune if he goes somewhere else. The same sites making fun of him now will make fun of him anywhere he goes if he continues to make himself a target.

The national media only catches on when the local media makes a big deal about it. He was asked about senior day. I guarantee you a majority of people who see the memes have no clue what he was asked.

Too bad some of the Monday morning QBs on here can't be our coach.

They apparently know how to play and win with second and third string defensive players, with no true DTs, and with a constantly rotating OL. It's so simple, surely.

Some people seem to have more of an attachment to Butch than they have to the football program.

These kind of comments are asinine. I am attached to a stable and successful program. Everyone wants to win, but some simply think putting severe pressure on the coach who has returned it to relevance is the way to go. I shutter to think what our program would do if a coach was forced to leave after improving his record every single year.

I hope he makes some changes, but my goodness, we have some whiny ass fans.

If it happened this season? Maybe Miles? You'd have to make sure you actually pair him with an OC worth a hoot though.

Fleck or Chad Morris would be the next rung of guys to look for. Would be an easy offensive transition for them most likely. Still, we'd want someone with more experience.

After that, who knows.

That's true... but the local media is what it is. It would've been on Finebaum and taken off from there, anyway. The thing is, it happens to coaches at every program. Look how much flak UF took for postponing the LSU game. Remember all those memes and mean tweets about Foley and McElwain? All of CFB laughed at their expense. Somebody gets picked on every day.

No sense of loyalty?

People are still buying tickets.

I had in mind the 40,000 or so fans that left the stadium Saturday when they saw the Lsu / Florida score. They are an embarrassment.

The ones who remained and cheered the team on to victory are the ones I like to associate with. I love those fans.

Butch coached in the much less meaningful American Conference. He knew what he was getting into by joining a major SEC team. You have a certain amount of time to live up to expectations. If you don't, you will be replaced. It's that simple.

Just like your real team. The GA bulldogs

I don't think I've seen the RF this contentious after a win before. The FF is always nuts, but this forum has always been a haven of sorts. People get too high or too low from time to time, but largely there's a sense of reason that keeps this place from flying off the bars.

But I don't even know what some of you guys are arguing about. And worse, I don't think YOU know what you're arguing about in some cases. I think if you guys chilled for a minute, you'd realize that most of the people here are on the same page - or at the very least, within the range of understanding.

People complaining about complaining, but that's about it. Oh, and people accusing other people of wanting CBJ fired when nobody has said anything of the sort.

Spread your wings and venture around the site. There's plenty calling for Butch.

Wrongfully, of course. But it's very much a thing.

I have thought for a long time you could make a really funny movie where fans on a message board somehow were allowed to take over control of their favorite team for a season...

Utah coach is who I'd want. Or Fuentes if we could somehow pull him.

Yes, but the difference is our own fans are picking on our coach. I guarantee you UF fans were defending their people. I don't understand why our fans CARE about what Butch says. We are the ones who should be used to it after 4 years. But while every other school defends their coach, we are chewing outs up and spitting him out. Soft, I tell you, some of our fans are soft.

The perceived differences between the FF & the RF has always been overblown but especially over the last year or so.

And just so I'm clear, I'm not defending the sanity of the FF by making that statement. They are as batchit as advertised.

Last I read, we are the top football attendance of any school. I gotta disagree about no loyalty.

Now, I don't read the fan forum, and it may be a dumpster fire, but many times I've noticed it's the same negative people posting over and over again.

He's not as close to a sure thing though. Herman has all the makings of the next great coach. He will kill it at Texas if that is indeed where he goes. I'm not as confident Fleck could do the same

Herman isn't either. He's this years hot name... They don't all pan out.
