And there's nothing wrong with that. Sometimes- most of the time- coaches hit their ceiling. If Butch were to move on after this year, I think you'd call his tenure a success. Sometimes the coach that pulls you out of the dregs isn't the same one that will lead you to a championship.

A bit of an oversimplification, but that was a factor in replacing Majors with Fulmer. Many other factors though.

I agree with that.

@BryanDFischer: Bednarik Award finalists: Jonathan Allen (Alabama), Myles Garrett (Texas A&M), Jabrill Peppers (Michigan)

It's a joke that Garrett sniffed the finalist list. He has not had a great year.

Unbelievable!! Barnett has blown Garrett out of the water this year. Garrett only had 4 sacks up until this past weekend when he feasted on the mighty UTSA and got 4.5 sacks. It's laughable. Do the people that do these awards even watch any of the games with these players in them? It's robbery that Barnett hasn't made it as a finalist on some of these lists.

it took fulmer 6 years

Not arguing that. And not really germane to the point. When the move was made, it may have never happened; in fact, it was an incredibly risky move at the time. I think we'd all like 20/20 foresight, but it probably ended up being the right call.

BTW, that 1990 team absolutely should have won the national championship.

The point was that Butch was what we needed when we needed it. He may have peaked, though. It happens all the time.

And I don't expect to be playoff contenders every single year. But for us to piss away the east two years in a row in inexplicable fashion when the division has been TERRIBLE isn't acceptable and it shouldn't be.

"Oh well there's always next year". We're still the undisputed C's of L.

Any word on the Mizzou game making it onto youtube? I didnt get to watch mist of it and would really like to do so. Thanks buddies!

He literally doubled his sack total in one game and is still behind Barnett.

Yep. It's absurd!

Garrett has 4 sacks against SEC comp...all 11 of Barnett's sack are against SEC teams.

It's a disgrace that a young man doing what he's doing doesn't get any recognition.

Barnett and Cunningham LB (Vandy) should both be on this list. Cunningham plays how I wish our LB would

An absolute f****** joke that Garrett made it over Barnett

Groupthink. The media says Garrett is better than Barnett and selectively prints info to validate that opinion. The media proclaims Lamar Jackson the Heisman winner and suddenly everyone else's accomplishments are diminished. Then Jackson stumbles and the media anoints Jalen Hurts.

Barnett is continually overlooked and undervalued. He'll be a top draft pick, though. Kiper's primed to move him up again.

Potential Coaching Change QBs:

LSU:
Myles Brennan (Pro, Mississippi, 4*)
Lowell Narcisse (Dual, Louisiana, 4*)

Texas:
Sam Ehlinger (Dual, Texas, 4*)

Notre Dame:
Avery Davis (Dual, Texas, 4*)

FSU (if Jimbo left):
Bailey Hockman (Pro, Georgia, 4*)
James Blackman (Pro, Florida, 3*)

Arizona:
Braxton Burmeister (Dual, California, 4*)

Good lord. I can't take Hurts winning the friggin Heisman as a freshman on top of them going 15-0.
