Butch HAS to keep the team focused on winning...that is what he is trying to do. This season still has potential to end on a really good note. This fan base is 60% idiot. If they lose next week because they come out bummed out because they didn't win the east, then THAT would be a disaster. I get what he is doing. Everybody just wants to dump on the man..I wish he would just tell all of us to "Piss off, I've still got a big job to do, and save this season" Anybody that really believes he is not disappointed, is a freakin moran.
Seems like there is a lot of "protection" and sympathy for Charlie Strong from the media and even CFB fans in general. Seeing a lot of "he's a great coach, just didn't fit at Texas" statements despite failing during his 3-year stint in Austin.
Meanwhile, Butch is actually succeeding in Knoxville (not overwhelmingly, of course) and the consensus is that he's anywhere from mediocre to horrible.

It's gotta be a personality thing with Butch. He's just not a very likeable guy when he's spouting off cliches 24/7 and never going off script. I think it's hard for many people, even in our own fanbase, to truly root for him because of that. I don't know much about Charlie Strong, but apparently he's a very genuine guy. So much so that people thought he wouldn't be able to handle all the schmoozing required to be the Texas head coach.
I like Terry, but don't know if he is a good coach
