They have a great chance. I don't think we match up well with them at all.

That's true in some ways and not so true in others though.

Offense should be able to score. If we can jump out to a lead, we should have more pass rush success against Vandy than Mizzou (who tries to get rid of the ball really quickly for the most part).

Run D is doomed though lol

Guy was definitely a douche. I know a guy that worked for the program back in the Dooley disaster. He told me about one off season he had planned a vacation over the holiday break. Dooley calls, and says there's a surprise mandatory meeting the morning he's supposed to fly out, and anyone not there was immediately terminated. So the guy calls and cancels his flight, shows up, and no one is there. He calls Dooley, and asked where he was, to which Dooley replied "I had to test you to see if you were loyal"

You cannot be serious....

And Ole Miss has zero run game. Every year. We shredded them last year.

We just scored 63 points on a team that handled Vandy fairly easily.

To be fair, he did make the point that we do not match up well with them...I'm ticked at him for being a muckraker tonight, but he has a point. My feelings are that it is always going to come down to Dobbs. He's on..we roll on anybody. He's off...we run like a a Yugo. He's due another stinker.

The Austin Peay defense had a better game against Kentucky today than UT did last week. Actually, if you look at the yardage, they had a MUCH better game. I don't believe there's a single player on the Austin Peay defense who who could make the two deep at UT. Hell, forget the two deep. There aren't many players on the AP team who could make the UT roster.

Let's pull the injury argument out of the equation. A team with 27 straight losses played better defensively than we did against a team we played the week before.

This has to be a scheme or coaching issue.

I don't know what a muckraker is but sorry for losing my cool earlier. Didn't mean to start anything

You think UK was playing with the same zeal and emotion against Austin Peay as they did against UT?

Aside from taking away some of our best players, I think the injuries have created a mess for Shoop establishing his system. He spent the whole offseason planning a defense that included Danny, Cam, JRM, Kmac, Kirkland, etc., then they would tweak and adjust as the season went.

Losing one or two wouldn't have derailed things, but losing all of those guys has basically put Shoop in a position of having to create a whole new defense, w/out even having completely installed the first. All this using massive amount of players getting their first real game experience. In the SEC.

I think all this adds up to disaster. You'll likely see a much better defense for the bowl.

Considering they were playing for bowl eligibility? Umm yea. I do.

But let's say they came out sluggish and uninspired. It still doesn't explain the performance disparity. UT gave up 50% more yards than Austin Peay. Here's an even better stat: Austin Peay gave up fewer total yards to Kentucky than UT gave up in RUSHING yards against them.

Kongbo has wheels.

Need to install the King Kong package on offense for him on 3rd/4th and 1 IMO.

How about WCU outscoring us vs USC? Man that game will hurt for a long time.

I agree. It can be a little misleading to make these comparisons. But considering we played that team last week and Austin Peay is SO bad, it's a pretty shocking two week turn of events. And the fact we got our ass handed to us again (historically so) by the Missouri offense. You don't have to be Picasso to paint a pretty clear picture. It's ugly.

But Tenn tech got shutout by us. Are they not better than AP comparatively?
