Looking at the losses ahead of us (and depending on USCw) we could be 15/16 after this week.

Take care of business against vandy, combine that with 2 or 3 more losses ahead of us, and we're in position to finish very strong after a quality bowl.

AP Poll (2001-2016)

2001 - #4
2002 - NR
2003 - #15
2004 - #13
2005 - NR
2006 - #25
2007 - #12
2008 through 2014 - NR
2015 - (23?)
2016 - ?

The CFP rankings are like the BCS rankings were; there's no "final" ranking there...just ones up until the bowl games.

The AP and Coaches Polls still put out a final poll after the bowl games, but we're currently unranked in both of them.

(However, since the bowls in the CFP rankings determine the New Years 6 bowls, that's why our rankings there matter enough to still put us in a position to possibly go to the Sugar Bowl.)

And we won't win our division.

Cry me a fawkin river. That's all it is with you guys.

No, we didn't make the playoffs.
No, we didn't win the east.

Still have a chance at a good year and maybe Butch will get fired and you babies will finally stfu. Until the next coach says something you don't agree with.

No, Fulmer finished 5-7 with a team that started ranked like 18th in the country, and that was just a few years after finishing 5-6 with a team that started ranked in the top 5, predicted by many to win the national title.

I'd trade a top 10 ranking at the end of the the year for a spot in the SEC championship game

We might not end up top 10, as the two that put out the two final/end of bowl season polls - the AP and Coaches Poll - don't have UT ranked in either at this point.

However, I would gladly take a Sugar Bowl bid - UT's first bowl of that level since the 1999 Fiesta Bowl - as a result of those CFP rankings.

Ah, didn't pay attention to that. Hopefully, the AP catches up to the Playoff rankings for UT.

And the east is the worst I've ever seen. He still couldn't win it. The next coach will be better. A top 20 ranking doesn't matter without a title of some sort.

Now I am angry."

Going to be hard to go from unranked to top 10 in the polls, if Sugar Bowl calls, Tn will at least have a shot to show out on national TV for the voters.

The level is irrelevant.

There will be no * in the history books for worst easy ever. You either win or you didn't. It's a stupid freaking thing to say.

And just think, with competent coaching we could easily be sitting at 10-1 and looking at a reasonable shot at the playoffs.

Exactly, we didn't win it with the best team under Botch. Year 4, and he has almost nothing to show for it.

True. But the committee decided to put us at #19 this past tues. The most recent ap came out before that, so I'm hoping after this weekend they'll follow suit with the playoff rankings.
