I should have said fixed revenue streams, ticket sales, concessions, TV revenue. Sure, if you win championships you can increase your ancillary revenue streams like appearal sales but it's not a for sure thing. Given the risk that it doesn't work out, many feel it's not worth it.

I understand your the messenger, but I don't understand the theory. I was a business major, but my occupation is not in business. That said, UT had an uptick in sales when they announced Nike and when they added gray to the uniform. I was at the game with the first smokey gray uniforms and thought it was genius because people were buying gray like it was going out of style. We aren't even talking about winning anything. If you win a championship every two years, people will buy things. Just bottom line. And we also aren't including the exposure and any extra money a school gets for going to championship games (because they have to get some).
