I should have said fixed revenue streams, ticket sales, concessions, TV revenue. Sure, if you win championships you can increase your ancillary revenue streams like appearal sales but it's not a for sure thing. Given the risk that it doesn't work out, many feel it's not worth it.

This isn't coming from me but from folks close to the AD.

I understand your the messenger, but I don't understand the theory. I was a business major, but my occupation is not in business. That said, UT had an uptick in sales when they announced Nike and when they added gray to the uniform. I was at the game with the first smokey gray uniforms and thought it was genius because people were buying gray like it was going out of style. We aren't even talking about winning anything. If you win a championship every two years, people will buy things. Just bottom line. And we also aren't including the exposure and any extra money a school gets for going to championship games (because they have to get some).

If Houston wins they'll jump us in the polls

Hard to overlook losing to Navy and getting thumped by SMU. Their last 3 wins are by 7, 7, and 12 to Tulsa, Central Florida, and Tulane. Not really impressive IMO.

NCs are hard to come by. If he stays there he will have them in contention regularly.

Well since it is pretty much just UM and OSU...that is not going to be that impressive. He has unlimited resources and little real competition....he better dominate.

Super Bowls aren't too easy either and he came within a Mike Hunt hair of winning one of those. Figured that might count for something.

But we're doing all that with Butch Jones.

We came within a couple of Mike Hunt hairs of being in the playoffs last year, and according to a lot of folks, that don't mean anything except Butch is a loser.

Smh. We also should've lost against Appy State and UGA this year... close is a double edged sword

Big deal..he would have dominated the Pac 12 while USC was down..so what. He still wouldn't have won a NC. He ain't gonna win one at Michigan either before he implodes. He is a butthole. Saban gets away with it. He is the only one.

I HAVE TO attend your Sunday School someday! :w00t:

So is it coaching holding him back then in your estimation? Because if he doesn't get more consistent and make better reads, he'll never be successful at the next level.

Of course. Butch Jones is about as bad a gameday coach as you can imagine. Debord is over the hill. And Dobbs has never had a proper QB coach.

The lack of quality coaching has hurt a lot of our players. That's why I've consistently said a lot of our players will be better in the pros than college.

Another robbery. Best defensive lineman in college football and has been ignored mostly until this year, and is still. Ring ignored by some. I've never even heard of those guys from Clemson and FSU

McFadden leads the nation in INTs and Wilkins is maybe the best DT in the nation and has been forced to play DE all year and he's dominated there.

Barnett shouldno doubt be on the lost but those guys aren't slouches.

Fyp. :)

If it wasn't for Dobbs' legs, he would not be the starting QB as he is not much of a passer. That doesn't fly in the NFL. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for what he's done for our program, but he's not an NFL caliber QB. He would need to change positions if he wanted to play on Sundays.

LSU felt the same way about Dak Prescott when they were recruiting him. Now look at him.

Dobbs will be a great QB in the NFL. GREAT.

Looks like another domino we needed to fall will fall tonight in Louisville. But we lost to South Carolina so it doesn't matter
