Not saying Calloway shouldn't return punts over Smith. But it was a diservice to him the way his punt returns happened against a vastly inferior opp. The blocking on those punts is what we would like to see in other games, which is harder to do when not playing TTU. Calloway did nothing special on either punt return. Literally ran in a straight line through a hole the size of the grand canyon. In fact, if you want to be completely honest it should be mentioned on the 1st return he was 1on1 with only the punter to beat and couldn't beat the punter. The great blocking and terrible opp has now created this idea that we have some AA punt returner just standing on sidelines.

He's better than Smith. Just being able to run it in a straight line. Josh is a productive WR that was called on to perform a duty in which he's not productive. Pretty much it.

really dumb question so sorry, but I don't remember seeing Picou out there-- assuming he was? Just kept seeing guys like Mixon Lewis etc...

Mathews talking about position moves. Says Jennings and Byrd should be on D and Kelky should slide down to LB.

Agree there.

He was promoted to DC at Tennessee with such position changes implemented by Majors...in an already lost season with no bowl in play. Always been a proponent of Byrd playing corner...think he's a prototype at that position (or at least safety), but football has grown a lil more complicated since ole Coach's days. Swimming upstream learning and converting positions on the fly in a season we have something to lose...jmo.

Watching replay of game and TKJr would be best to move into the JRM role. Instinctive player with nose for ball but too slow to play safety in NFL. He would be a fast LBer and has the frame to add 15-20 pounds. Also a team leader with great attitude.

Would love to see this next year:

Phillips
Vickers
McKenzie
Taylor

Kirkland
Kelly

Byrd CB
Mosely CB
Abernathy NB
Warrior S
Berry S

Prob an oversight but RG7 needs to be on the field

Can't believe how well the bend, but not break worked out for us yesterday. KY chewed us up from the 20 to 20, but after five times in the red zone, we held them to just 16 points and had a turnover. Still not happy with the DB play as usual, but considering the MASH unit we were still playing with and Sutton just coming back(very rusty), it could have been worse. I wish we could see what this Defense would be doing right now firing on all cylinders with all of our best players out there....
Not happy with the two garbage TD's we gave them in the end, they did not deserve those....
We should win out...

I agree. I hope we play this bend but don't break remainder of year.

Both would be huge upgrades on D, but imagine that WR corps if Malone declares for the NFL this year and those two make the switch. Who would be starting 3 next year? Calloway, Smith, and George? And they might be fine, but it sure seems like that would be a total rebuild job there.

Playoff rankings and AP poll is completely different. Look how high they had A&M after losing to MSU and bama by double digits! They had UF at #11, Colorado top 15, OKState ranked.

We would definitely be around #7 if we had beat Socar. Top 5 of we beat Socar and A&M. There's no question about it

I understand the difference between the AP and the Playoff polls, but they're both based on non-fans looking at the product we put on the field.

It's biased to the point of delusion to think that the team we trotted out against App State, Ohio, Alabama, SC, and the first halves of VT, UF, and UGA was ever going to be, or deserved to be, top 5. Maybe after this week with all the upsets, but not before.

I'm gonna assume Malone is back for now.

Brandon Johnson getting PT. Williams red shirting.
