He's not a pollster and not really part of the press (although he runs a blog that employs members of the press). He does use statistical analysis in his methodolgy, which is mathematical evidence (albeit not a hard science like chemistry or physics). Statistics is not a crystal ball but merely a method of categorizing various probabilities based off of known facts. He was also one of the most accurate predictors of the Trump win. He professed that a Trump win was entirely possible given how close the polling data was and poll data's inherent inaccuracy to predict such a tight race.
