The electoral college is a sham with racist origins. It was designed to give the slave holding south more say in presidential elections because if the country went to a pure popular vote, the south would always lose since slaves couldn't vote. But with the electoral college, slaves could count as 3/5ths a person for representation purposes and eventhough they could never vote, southern states with large slave populations would have more electors in the electoral college and thus more say in the presidential elections.

No it is not,not even close. It was designed to allow equal participation and leverage with lower populace regions, otherwise, NY, CA, and TX would be deciding your president every election. See HOR.

Also, Clinton did not win the MAJORITY, she won the Plurality, big difference.

He's a college educated black male aged 18-29. Chances are slim to nothing he voted for a racist candidate like Trump.

The Trump vote was overwhelmingly non-college educated whites. So unless he's that odds are he didn't vote for that lunatic.

I would never defend a relic from slavery.

And that's all the electoral college is. A system created by the founding fathers to benefit the slave states when it came to presidential elections.

Obama lost the white vote both times in 2008 and 2012. Yet he won in landslides (by 10 million votes in 2008 and 5 million votes in 2012).

Clinton lost because turnout among minorities was low.

since 1976, Democrats have never won white voters. Jimmy Carter, a Southerner, came the closest in 1976, winning 48% of it.

Since then, Democrats have ranged from 34% (Walter Mondale in 1984) to 44% (Bill Clinton in 1996).

Obama, in his first election, won 43% of the white vote, the second-highest number for a Democrat since Carter. His 39% in 2012 puts him further down the list of Democrats in the last 10 elections, but only slightly below the average 40.6% share for Democrats through the years.



So you can say he lost the white vote but he actually performed normally for a Democrat. In otherwords, it was more about which letter was next to his name then the color of his skin.

On that note I am curious, what do you think of Quanell X, a leader of the new black panthers, saying that Democrats have been using and abusing black voters for the past 50 years? He also said that black people did not improve any under Obamas regime.
