Hearing Rumors Debord Is Gone After This Season

I think he's unfortunately going to have to either fire Debord or a slew of offensive coaches to go into next year without a scorching hot seat.

I'd love to hear what LWSVOL has to say about this, but I still don't think we've seen Butch's offense come close to it's true potential. I don't necessarily think it's Debord or Butch's fault, I just think we lack the personnel to really execute it at an SEC/Championship level.

I think there are going to be some changes. At this juncture on both sides of the ball. BUT, it is difficult to know who exactly or why with more ball to play. I put it at not better than 50-50 that we can win out. If we don't win out, that could change staff complexion by a lot.

which was extended in March through February 2018. so a year was added to it this past March.

In no way do i believe he will be fired. If not here in 2017 it will be a decision he makes

Do you think Butch will hire a new strength coach?

Then that's on the coach

He needs to take Mahoney,Z and Willie with him also. Butch needs to give his offense playbook to take with him.

Not sure about that one. I don't what Butch's expectations for the strength coach were. I know he and Lawson had differences in the approach is why Lawson no longer here.

I've heard some rumbles about making the players smaller and faster / quicker. When you do that, it is also too easy to make them weaker. For whatever reason, we have appeared weaker or softer this year, especially in the lines.

Now was that because of the new guys training techniques or was it Butch requiring smaller and quicker? I don't know.

If the guy did what Butch wanted seems he has a hard time replacing him

We knew that his contract expires after this year.

Not sure if that means Butch will retain him or not but there's a chance he could walk away on his own.

He has another year on his contract (through 2017 season) but could still walk away. Shoop is the one sitting with a contract and no buyout. He could walk away to a better job (if he believes there is a better job out there)

He's only an accomplice IMO. You bring him in, offer him a deal, maybe even immunity, and get him to roll over on "Mr. Big"......Lyle Butch Jones.

Just pictured him in a Johnny Dangerously movie going "Legit".

Will it matter if we get a new OC if they have to operate under Lyle's restrictions? Serious question.

Maybe it's not Jone's system that's the problem, but the guy calling the plays in his system. Bajakian is a good example. I believe he was a much better coordinator.

He's not getting fired. He's quitting and going to the NFL.

After the way Butch has lied to & mistreated him you can't blame Debord for leaving either.

He's gonna change positions and either be a RB's or WR's position coach as they have longer NFL careers than offensive coordinator.

Butch should have been thrilled to death Debord decided to grace us with his presence. He only coordinated a NC at Michigan. You know who else came out under his watch? Tom F'ing Brady. And Debord has pro set NFL experience.

Debord almost quit after 2015 because Butch kept making him run a Read Option spread. Butch promised him if he would come back one more year and lead us to Tampa he'd let him run a Pro-Set or an I-Form offense and wouldn't tell him to call plays for an innacurate wildcat quarterback to pass from the pocket anymore.

Nobody has realized until our 8th game of the year but Butch is such a gutless coward and afraid that Debord would make him look bad that he lied to Debord the entire time. Butch being a liar with no morals has gone too far. Debord could have delivered a NC to any team in the country, just look at bama's offense! Its similar to ours. After Debord decided to do Rocky Top a favor and allowing us the privilege of calling our plays, Butch intentionally sabatoged his career. Forced him to run a scheme he's not suited for with players Debord doesn't know how to coach.

You can't blame Debord.

Bama chose to go with smaller DLinemen with more speed. Evolving with the game.
