Hurd is receiving legend status-- and most of it is pure fiction. Who started all this crap?

Hubbs??

Quote:
On his last carry, Hurd got up and headed to the sidelines in what appeared to be taking himself out of the game. He's been battling a tender back, but I don't know how bad of an issue that was or wasn't.

I think there's some close to the program wondering where his investment is with this team.

Blahhh I will never question the toughness of a guy who constantly gets drilled the way Hurd does.
It was clear he was injured on that 3rd and short run.
He got hit and folded up immediately the way he never folds. His legs completely left him.
To know what we know about concussions and the. question someone who was OBVIOUSLY concussed in the Georgia game is outlandish and piss poor reporting by hubbs or anyone else who gives credence to any rumors about Hurd

Same story every year with this coach. Get rid of him now while you still have a chance to keep instate talent home. butch needs to open his eyes to what happened at LSU to a coach too stubborn to adapt his offense to what the players needed.

I give the defense a pass this year. We've suffered injuries on a level I've never seen before on that side of the ball. Couple that with our hurry up and punt offense and you can assume that that has played into our defensive injuries a lot. The offense is my biggest gripe. Ray Charles could see the flaws in our offense. No adjustments have been made in 4 years. The scheme doesn't take advantage of our guys strengths. It's forced and unnatural and that turns our elite players into mediocre players at best. Throw in atrocious qb play, ol that is below average, and a rb that needs a lead blocker in the worst way and you have what we have here. Time for Lyle to swallow pride and accept his failure. His future depends on it.

Meh, caring and wanting the team to be better or play better and expressing negative view points or pointing out negative aspects of the team/program doesn't mean you think of it as anything more than entertainment or treat it as life or death.

Maybe your hobby is music or are really into movies. Does it mean you consider it life or death when you critique a band's performance at a concert or to have a negative review of a film?

Also, what makes negative performances particularly frustrating for me is the amount of money, time, travel, etc. that goes into a being a fan and attending the games to support the team. I (and I'm sure other fans) develop an emotional and financial attachment to the team, and when they underperform at such an extreme level it is particularly frustrating and makes me question the investments I make in the team.

You responded to someone that has been to every SEC venue except Baton Rouge, College Station, and Columbia to see UT play. I have also been to Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando, Miami, South Bend, Berkeley, Norman, and Tempe to see them play. I certainly don't need a lecture about spending time and money to watch my alma mater.

I was responding to Catbone. Maybe it's just his schtick, but he quits every time this program gets hit with adversity, whether it's in the middle of a game or sometime else. Other people follow suit. I am ultra competitive, but people get so emotional that they come up with stupid stuff to criticize. I am all for constructive criticism, and we all want to win. Some of you guys are crying about the sunshine pumping "jerks." Well, yes, I choose to be positive in life even in adversity. You suck it up, improve, and fight on. We all hope changes will be made in the offseason. Unfortunately, some of our fans are soft, too. I will keep doing what I do.

Reminds me of last year after the Arkansas game. Butch was punching sweet innocent players.

Well Hubbs wasn't talking about that stuff. He is talking about Hurd.

Hubbs is the unofficial voice of the program. This appears to be scripted.

I think Hurd is transferring. My guess is he graduates in Dec or maybe May.. the fact they would never adjust anything to his strengths had to be really frustrating.

You make a good point.

That said, hopefully this team meeting will help as much as last year's did after the Arkansas mess.

This season had so much potential. Even though it might be disappointing it will never be described as boring that's for sure.

And now back to your regularly scheduled program. "As the Vols turn"

The more I read, the more angry I become at Butch and his offseason decisions. Last year our offense was rolling- putting up points in our final games and had a spectacular performance in our bowl. Dobbs looked so confident and comfortable. Then Butch and Debord decided to try to make him become more of a pocket passer which has explained why he has looked so out of sorts all this season, throwing interceptions, not running anywhere near what he used to, just ridiculous mistakes. Hence our horrible offensive performances most of this season. This falls in line with what LAVol said about not scheming to the player's strengths. My question is why the hell would you try to change anything about Dobbs going into his senior season in such an important year?! Add to that the S&C coaching decisions and soft camp, etc. Now here we are 5-3 dreams crushed, players injured left and right, locker room issues. It seems Butch is hell bent on doing his offense his way no matter the outcome, hence the lack of adjustments. What coach does this?! Does he love his offense to the detriment of his career because it is close to disaster if something doesn't get fixed. Of course it is Tennessee's luck we would hire a coach who seems to work really hard and does a lot of good things, but has the most ridiculous, complicated offense that no one can run.

I hope CFA gets some carries this weekend. I like what I saw when he was in HS and in the few carries he's had this year.

I just wish all these players that have had their tiny little feelings hurt would just leave so we could field a team with guys that want to be here. So tired of self entitled whiny *****es
