I don't really disagree with that but it's just not gonna happen, especially with that raise and extension Butch got recently.

Also, People keep forgetting, but we won't have a new AD actually on campus until next June. Hart is here until then and will then step down. We're not gonna have him hire a new HC. And this isn't gonna be a great year for us to be competing with LSU and potentially USC and Texas for the new HC of our choice.


In an ideal world, Butch wouldnt have been given an extension last year, we'd have a new (acting) AD in December, and we'd only have to compete with LSU for a new coach. But that's just not the case. Butch will be here for the 2017 season.

I now think Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Mizzou have the ability to beat us. I certainly don't think they will but if we were to implode as a team things could get scary.

Butch Jones has made some really bad decisions this past off season. Costly decisions.
NO QB COACH. This is by far the worst decision he has made. It has clearly effected Dobbs decision making and accuracy. He has completely folded under pressure. The a&m int, USCjr int, the pick before the half vs appy, his indecisiveness on 3rd down this season is terrible. I don't blame dobbs, I blame the lack of a coach .

It stinks so bad that we wait so long for football season to get here, and now we are 2/3s of the way through it, and we are miserable. So demoralizing to have your hopes up all offseason thinking this is the year we get back to relevance and the SECC game, start 5-0 with wins against UGA and Florida, think you are back, then lose to one of the least talented USCe teams in the last decade. Sometimes it is extremely hard to be a Vol fan! Of course, my wife's family is Carolina fans and I have to go eat Thanksgiving there this year. Should be fun...

I really believe that Dobbs is starting because he gives us the best chance to win in light of the rest of the roster. I do wonder though if some of the upperclassmen would completely check out if Dobbs is benched? Are the coaches really running the offense or do we have some player coaches imposing their wills?

Of course I do,but I'm also blaming the overall regression on the coaching staff. No other excuse for a Sr qb who has played since he was a fr has consistently gotten worse. The longer he's been in the butch process he has gotten worse. He looked like a freshman last night. He made freshman mistakes and did a horrible job protecting the football . not something a Sr 9th week into the season does. I don't think any other qb on the roster could do much better. We looked poorly coached last night.

Just looked around the Bookface for a few minutes expecting to see some reactions and articles about the game last night. Goodness......the fanbase truly is done. Not even a win-out will resolve this.

Been having a convo with a buddy of mine about Butch. Here is what we both believe will happen: Butch will win just enough to stay here for about another 3-4 years, he isn't going anywhere even if we go 6-6 this year.

That freshman quarterback that Muschamp has didn't make any mistakes. Of course, he hired his dad to get him, I guess. I think that they are not the same SC as they were with that other QB.

Still, we should have won that game.

Here is where we miss those nuggets from Eazy and GFW because I am betting there is a divided locker room right now. Most of the team has mentally checked out. Just a perfect storm of horrible circumstances and Butch knows it. He can talk about there is a lot of football still to be played- I am still waiting on team 120 to do that. It isn't going to happen now I am afraid with almost nothing to play for at this point except a mid tier bowl.

Isn't that what Butch wanted? A player coached team? Looks like he got it, and it looks terrible.

We gift wrapped that first TD drive with penalties, etc. I think the defense was ok (with a few miscues) otherwise. The penalties and sloppiness on offense were mind boggling.

Looking back having permanent captains was a really bad idea because since only one of the captains is playing (and should probably be benched with the way he is playing) it's definitely hurting the morale of the team when they see that

Even after a poor night's sleep it is still ridiculous they lost the game. At least the sun came up today. Can only hope their are wholesale changes in O staff n philosophy
