there appears to be some off the field problems with this team. I don't know this for sure but there is no definite leaders.

You have guys making stupid plays on every kick off or punt return. I want to see leaders chewing their a$$ out before they leave the field.

We have questions about severity of injuries or injuries at all. Think we may have some attitudes.

We look like a bunch of individuals trying to make it to the league and not a team trying to win a championship.

bingo we have a winner

Something is definitely off with this team and they were just talking about it on the radio. The slow starts, looking unprepared, the turnovers and penalties. What the hell happened from last year? I wonder if there is something to what Neuheisel was saying weeks ago on Sirius that Butch was dealing with things coaches should never have to or something like that. I mean we aren't blind here- something is not right and these are the same damn players as last year.

Y'all know me, I'm a CBJ guy but there is absolutely zero excuse for this loss.

Don't care how many injuries we have. No excuse whatsoever.

I'm mad as hell about this one. My faith in Butch has taken a direct hit. Maybe I feel different tomorrow...

Might feel worse

I think I might feel worse. I'm a glass half full kind of fan but man that's a really bad loss. So many stupid mistakes.

Tomorrow I pick vacation days for next year. Was planning on taking some time during football season, which I still will, but tonight sure has dampened my mood.

Hmm...might be on to something with the Neuheisel comment.

Long gone are the days of AJ Johnson & Curt Maggitt. Hate how those two's Vols career ended but those guys went insane before every game. It caused other guys like Cam Sutton and JRM to join in with them and just pump up the entire team. It was fun to watch, they were great. This team has injured captains who unfortunately are better players than they are captains.

That Debord hire just keeps making Butch look like a fool the longer it lasts. What a huge blunder and idiotic hire by Butch.

Dobbs... Oh my! He is average at best. I would rather see what The back up can do for the last meaningless games.

Scale tipped for me tonight. Not saying Butch will be fired at the end of the season, but he should be. This probably won't be our last loss.

I give the defense a pass tonight, I honestly didn't think they were that bad playing with 3 CBs on the roster and 1 scholarship DT by the end of the game.

But the offense underperformed from the first series against App State with the exception of about one quarter per game when they reminded us how good they could have been.

Looking at the CBs behind Sutton, the LBs behind JRM, the OL, etc. this was clearly Butch's opportunity to showcase his coaching and he looked like he was in over his head.

That has stuck in my mind ever since he said it. We can dissect various players and coaches shortcomings, but there seems to be a mental/attitude/character difference among the team this year. Neuheisel seem to make more sense with each passing game.

I think eventually we will learn of things that will change our perspective of this season.

I wish the coaches would sit Dobbs next week and let QD and SJ (if healthy) play. It's an OOC game and we've already been humiliated two weeks in a row, so there are no stakes. Let's see if QD can find any rhythm with our receivers that might give us a better shot at salvaging... something. Dobbs' INT lost the aTm game and he has been atrocious the two games since then. He's moving on, so let's see what we have for next year.

Ok, trying to separate emotion from what happened. Here's what I've got.

1. Bad Snap: Vols driving, ball flies past Dobbs for about a 16 yard loss. Killed a drive

2. Wolf drops:
2 more this week. See a theme?

3. USCe TD: Due to injury. We are so thin now. I don't know who blew the coverage, but this was an injury score.

4. Dobbs Fumble: Another casualty of injury. 3rd string back is winded, and we have the 4th string guy in, causing an unbelievable fumble.

5. Hurd: I like Hurd. I have no comprehension for why they run him sideline to sideline.

6. Debord: Sorry sir. You've had some good moments, but this is SEC football. We can't live on good moments. We need complete games... and a lot of them.

7. Muschamp Curse: I'll be honest. I chose the Vols big, but was nervous. This cat has our number.

8. Butch: When you remove all of the talent, you see how good your coach is. We have known Butch is not the best, but he does a lot of things well. Fortunately, one of them is recruiting. When he has the talent around him, he can win, but he still needs to make some adjustments on offense.

9. Kelly: He is going to be really good, and is already.

10. Dobbs: I love this dude, but even with the bad OC calling today, Dobbs played really bad. He is so maddeningly inconsistent. If he takes back a couple of decisions, this is a win.

11. Bye-week: Inexcusable to see this after a bye.

12. Injuries: Keep it in mind. Take a look at our App State starting 22... or even 2 deep, and look at what we finished with today. This team is in terrible physical shape, and no matter what you say, this year is a mulligan, because NO ONE in the country loses the talent we have, and rolls unscathed.
That's what I got.

Mulligan?!

I know you were one of the last Dooley hold outs but come on man.

Butch has said he doesn't want his players too hyped for games. College football season very emotional. Taking the emotion out is a mistake.

I think we should fire Debord on Monday and name Gillespie OC. Benching Dobbs for Dormady or S. Jones shouldn't be out of the question either. Ride this year out and see how things go.

What a shame. A damn shame of a season.

Im pissed off tonight, but they can't start playing for next year yet. Florida is more than capable of dropping 2 more games, so you still have to play for Atlanta. I wouldn't say the odds are with us, but there's still a significant enough chance to keep us from cleaning house mid season.

We lose another one though and I completely agree.

If I have to watch Dobbs take a shotgun snap, not move his feet at all, and throw an all-upper body zinger into the turf again I might go mad.

It is alarming how bad he is with simple fundamentals.

Bolded part is very true and maybe it has impacted his leadership (or lack thereof)

It is coaching malpractice that we haven't had a dedicated QB coach for half of Dobbs career. Does anyone think he wouldn't have benefitted from that?

I wonder how we're going to look against TT. If things don't improve we could be looking at a 6-6 or 7-5 season.

I said before this game that South Carolina didn't have the talent to even stay on the field with us. Still somewhat true but didn't matter. I now think Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Mizzou have the ability to beat us. I certainly don't think they will but if we were to implode as a team things could get scary.
