In Bama game when all our linemen started to get ousted from game, I did not see Austin Sanders get any play time ? Is he hurt ? or just recruited over ? Atleast in Bama game he could have gone in if not hurt !

edit : seems like he is hurt and out for season. How do I delete this thread ? Mods please help.

Per the practice update thread today he and Phillips went at it pretty good. Doesn't seem to be injured, Boulware gets his snaps. Last season he was out entirely with a torn bicep, still has time to contribute.

I have wondered the same thing all season. He was a top-250 4-star recruit who played in five games as a RS Freshman. He had a great spring in 2015 before tearing the bicep in fall camp last year. It's not a good sign when they put injured players and true freshman out there ahead of him. We really could've used him.

Just not good enough. We need studs that can get it done.

We are lacking in SEC quality O lineman and we currently have one 3* Oline commitment. Butch is laying an egg in this department and it has hurt us all year. What is going on?

It's pretty bad when they burn the RS of a 260 pd undersized guy in the 7th game of the year, and he's still on the pine.

In a game that is already lost no less. I get that maybe he's not developed the way they hoped but they were down to just needing bodies to finish the game why burn the RS if Austin is truly healthy enough to go?

This was my question. Pull dobbs as well if you are worried about him. Sanders is a guard and not a tackle is probably the reasoning. He was when on the field a little last year.

at the end of the day you are dealing with over paid gym coaches. Tatum's wasn't close to ready. Perhaps they can now redshirt him next year since all the tackles return.

When they fire Debord we had better see your name as one of the candidates to replace him since this D1 SEC coaching thing is so easy 🙄 Get real man

We seem to be in the lead for 5* Smith and 4* TJ Moore. Hopefully CBJ can get these 2 in the fold.

5 star Drew Richmond is already in the fold but can't get on the field after 2 years in the program. I'm more concerned about who's coaching and developing our OLs. It's not good.

Another one of Butch's moves that makes ABSOLUTELY no sense...........Sanders is not hurt but you want to play a TRUE freshman that you know is NOT ready...........kinda like Kyle Phillips is an ALL WORLD defensive end that just needs playing time but they insist on playing him as an undersized defensive tackle...........Kyle Phillips is better than Corey Vereen......... or just let this marinate on you...........Tyler Byrd has proven he is ready for SEC competition but they still start Josh Smith over him not to mention you watch this weekend they put SLOW Josh Smith at returning punts vs Tyler Byrd.....

We have plenty who look the part.

But there is a difference between looking and playing the part. And one would think having a O-Line coach and an OC who works with linemen would result in that position group being one of the best in the nation.

Yeah, we have had injuries, but they weren't dominate when healthier. Improve your line play, you improve the entire offense.

Absolutely correct. This is the one that makes no sense to me. Byrd pops off the screen everytime he enters. Smith has shown very little last two seasons.
