I'd keep Kamara back there if it were me...he can always make the first guy miss.

Scott said freshman wide receiver Tyler Byrd and freshman cornerback Marquill Osborne have worked with the punt return unit all season, and that either of them would be “ready to go” at a moment’s notice.
“There’s several guys we’ve repped back there, from Tyler Byrd to Marquill Osborne and those type of guys,” Scott said. “They’re all ready. They catch kicks every day, and they understand the schemes and what we’re trying to get done there.
“All those guys, when called upon, I think would be ready to go.”

I know we're getting Hurd back, but with our injury luck this season, it might not be so bad to limit the hits that Kamara takes.

With that said, I'd be a little concerned with the judgement of a freshman to either take or fair catch a punt.

Sure would be nice to have Byrd or Latrell Williams speed on returns...as long as the hands and decision making qualities are there.

Nothing wrong with Special K either.

Gotta go with byrd he looks very elusive and super fast i wish he would get more touches screen passes, end arounds ...jet sweeps what ever they can do to get the ball in his hands

Just get kamara the ball anyway you can! If that means punt returns then keep him there his fumbled punt last week looked like kick catch interference to me but idk

Once Kamara is gone next season to the NFL no doubt it's going to be Tyler Byrd. This guy is something special with the ball in his hands & we need to get it to him as much as possible.

I keep Kamara back there unless he's getting so much offensive work that he needs the break/rest. If anybody else, give me Byrd, I know that kid is a stud....haven't seen Osborne to know one way or the other.

Kamara but I wouldn't mind seeing Byrd with his speed. Kamara is a proven return man. Maybe wait on giving Byrd a chance until after the Red Team and we play the softies.

Kamara is trying to show bama what they missed out on i bet he goes all out this saturday playing bama . i wouldnt let anyone but kamara touch the ball on punt returns this week. But if even berry out this week why not put byrd on kickoff return he could do some damage with his speed if he gets loose.

With as much as we practice special teams, I would have no worries about them pulling an Antonio Callaway.

Byrd is the man. No doubt the reason PW is leaving. Took his playing time and touches. Not sure if JK has the speed, but certainly has the moves and toughness to do the job.

He was clocked at 22 mph this spring he's got speed for sure

Wouldn't mind seeing Byrd back there. Kid is quick but Kamara almost always seems to make the first guy miss and get something positive. Kamara, IMO puts more stress on the punt team because of that. Sometimes when that first guy misses you have a breakdown in coverage and get a big return.

My question is, what about putting Byrd and Kamara both back there? That could be filthy

Byrd is on another level. He's adjusted to the speed of the SEC really well for a true freshman. I say give him the reigns or work him in by splitting the punt return reps with Kamara.

I'd take it a step further.

Hed get touches on punt return and slot.

And hed be the number 3 CB. He would play every 3rd series on defense and everytime Moseley or Foreman needed a breather.

Tyler Byrd is a Patrick Peterson type player.

IMHO PW was more about catching the ball vs having to block...didn't seem physical enough, but wish him luck wherever he goes...:good!:

GO VOLS...BEAT BAMA!

They don't even play the same position on the field so there is no way Byrd is why PW is leaving. Byrd is a slot guy, smaller and extremely fast. PW is an outside guy that uses his size, speed and jumping ability. But no way is that why PW is leaving seeing as they play completely different WR positions.

Honestly I am at the point where Byrd should be our Jabril Peppers. Get him to ball in every way imaginable.

That would break up the blocking scheme.
