Dad always talked fondly of 1ID. Really liked Fort Riley. It was before my time, but he still talked about it to me when I was young. Hated Fort Leonardwood. Called it the armpit of the country...lol. Might be why he liked Fort Riley so much though. He Saw Fort LW first.

I did basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood. Ft. Riley is in the middle of no where but heck, most Army installations are.

If he was an East Coast Marine then we were probably on Lejeune together. I was 3/2 Betio Bastards. My father was an Army tanker during Desert Storm. Thank yall for your service. Hoorah! And hooyah or whatever it is yall say in the Army.

Haha. It's Hooah.

He was 1/3 "Lava Dogs" (of fallujah fame).

Well biker your reply caught my autocorrect before I could fix it. I full expect to be shamed.

No shame Devil Dog.

We served our time in hell and this is probably as close to heaven as we will ever get. Live life to it's fullest and don't take shi* from anybody. Same goes for you sergeantvol. :hi:

Am I the only one who gets a kick out of Tony Balogna? The guy is either for real and just wants to help and is unintentionally hilarious or he has created a great troll gimmick where he actually brings info but does it in a way that annoys half the board to death.

Half the board??? More like the whole enchilada minus one.

Yes. He followed dads in dads footsteps (his own choice) and joined the Corps.

My younger brother was in the Navy at the same time I was in the Marines. My father was Army (Big Red One).

My family has served in every war in American history since the French and Indian War (before we were even a country). On both sides in the Civil War too. We've been here a long time.

Is that you

Mmm, coffee! I may have to have a lot of it to stay awake until getting back to the hotel after the game tomorrow night. Hey glicht, are your brewing a pot or 10 tomorrow?

On gamedays I like to mix my uppers with some downers. Captain and Coke.

(I'll start the day with coffee though. People that don't drink coffee are not to be trusted. :birgits_giggle:)

Some coffee with a side of Bloody Mary isn't a bad way to start the day either.

Never had a Bloody Mary. It was a family tradition on my mom's side of the family for the adults to have Bloody Marys on Christmas morning while the kids opened gifts. Don't know how that got started though.

My morning menu is as follows:

Capt. Crunch with Dr Pepper instead of milk.

Scrambled Eggs mixed with a teaspoon of Dr. Pepper.

Toast

Jack on the rocks with splash of Dr pepper.

I just have never got into any sort of alcohol in the morning.

I only need the coffee… No alcohol for me. Hey involuntary, think you can have a pot brewing for me tomorrow afternoon? Where is your RV located? Hope you did not bring any rubber sheets and gerbils.
