SECE pecking order after week 1

UNC is not that good. They haven't beaten anyone. Only ranked due to the recent success of FSU and Clemson. They are almost dead last in rushing D. Ga did what it should have, but like us got lucky, though they had a more glamorous opponent. They still have a lot to work on

UT is the only team I think could do it with the depth/talent. Otherwise I wouldn't bet anyone else in the East could beat Bama given 10 tries.
I hate to agree with a gator but Lawgator1 is right. No one in the East can compete with the Bamers.

The big thing I noticed about Georgia is they looked like they were playing a lot of freshman on offense, and they will get you miraculous play one play and then a head scratcher the next. We have seen it first hand. The tricks for them will be making sure the head scratchers aren't game changers.

And yet this is what Jones had to say:

"I think this is the most complete the East side has been from top to bottom in a long, long period of time," Jones said. "Anyone is capable of winning in our conference. You have to bring you're A game week in and week out."

Well I would prob agree with that myself. In fact you'd better bring your A game ever week REGARDLESS of who you're playing because EVERYONE has enough talent to beat ANYBODY now days!!

Kentucky is dead last. They got outscored 34-0 in the last 31 minutes by Southern Miss

The Southern Miss offensive coordinator had been fired the previous year by Kentucky

UGA
UF/UT
SCAR
Vandy
Mizzou
UK

Don't think it will end up this way, though. And unless Bama doesn't show up in ATL, they're probably rolling to the playoffs. IDT it's good for CFB to have Bama dominate year after year... but they just plug and play 5* talent.

A team as experienced as UT shouldn't have 1st game jitters. Georgia didn't

I like your high expectation/no excuse attitude. Care bear coaching rubbed off onto the offense for sure. I can understand slow start but the offense was pitiful the whole game. The care bear OL that where getting whopped should have been benched early

And by the way, those of you who thought any team in the East, including Tennessee, could compete with Alabama? You are on crack. A ton of it.

It remains the case that the East is way behind the West.

Umm not the west...it's Bama

Don't know if you watched the same games I did or not..but what I saw is Bama on top..and the rest of the west sucking.

Maybe..just maybe A&M is decent..but at most they could be grouped in with UT and UF..

The rest of the west suck

I'm not sure that our biggest problem is fixable with the current personnel. Our offensive line is horrible. This is probably the most discouraging win I've ever seen. I would take 9-3 in a heartbeat right now.

Georgia finally got it together and against a pretty good UNC team, although I don't think as good as last year. Builds a lot of confidence for UGA to start the year. Gonna have our hands full in Athens. After this week, hope the Vols quit reading their press clippings.

I'd rather we just go into places and beat the snot out of them then we can say WE ARE the best in the east.

It's like UK keeps finding worse and worse ways to lose. I wish we could have just gotten beat fair and square instead of having to get up by 25 first.

Georgia clearly had the best showing. Eason is going to be a problem. After that, there were just different levels of suckitude.

9-3 and another trip to the Outback Bowl wouldn't be bad:rock:

It's interesting that per the latest team rankings, Appy State would be third in the SEC East behind georgia and UT (ranked 13th and 14th)...in fact, the only 3 teams on our schedule ranked higher than Appy State are Bama, Georgia and TAMU...

We'll see how the ranking change over the course of the year...

Georgia is the only SEC-E team that looked competent and ready to win. Everyone else has a lot of work to do, but UT/UF could probably slug out for second place. The rest of the lot are just sad.
