Bristol already behind schedule (updates added)

It is funny to see other fan bases bash this for being done when I have been to the race as it is in my back yard for many years. It is not as bad as people are making it out to be. Like they would not have taken the game to be part of history alone. Here is a photo of the furtherest away

looks like it's from a window seat on American Airlines.

You won't even be able to see their jersey numbers from that seat :lolabove:

Surely a Gator is smart enough to understand that a camera view is not the same as an eye view?

Hilarious to me that people that have never been in Bristol think this is what they will see LOL!

Of course I guess there could be some jealousy there. Your not going? Your teams going to suck? You secretly love TN Orange and thats why you are always here? You just like being a troll? Hope to see you around September 25th.

Idk how well we will see jersey numbers but Id bet you could see McElwains buttered up donkey teeth from that distance easy!

You silly gators quit with the crying. Y'all can brag too in a few weeks when you can say y'all got beat by the team that played in front of 160,000 fans.

Your welcome

Hehe, ALGator and LawGator, they're both like the kid outside the candy shop, can't get in, trying hard to convince themselves and anyone who will listen that the candy inside is turrible, just turrible.

Here they are, sittin' together:

I will be so glad when this game is over so the freaking debate on whether its a good place or not will stop. So what. If you cant see watch colossus. If you dont want to go, dont. Ive been a season ticket holder for Bristol for 20 years and been to the races there for close to 40. I dont need anyone who hasnt been to tell me what my view is going to be like.

Question..When you are at the races ..Is there any cell signal? Was thinking of using phone for replays etc as well if possible

Nascar is sponsored by Sprint and they usually bring in boosters that kill everyone else's signals. With that said and Sprint not being there you may get more signal than at a race but will likely be limited due to 160K all overloading the cell towers to upload photos and vids. If Bristol has the WiFi going its better.

Let me just say though that you wont need your phone for that. Colossus is the largest 4 sided screen in the world. I know that it looks small in some of these pictures but trust me you will be impressed with it and the sound system. Its a true marvel at the quality of the screens, the size and the sound is truly amazing. Its almost BOSE like. They really did the homework on this one.

You're right.

I think that the actual view will be worse than that.

Don't get me wrong, I think this game will be great for the Tennessee program. Major exposure, set ncaa football attendance records and a host of positives too numerous to count. However, I hope this is a one and done for UT. I think the vast majority of seats are too far away for people to enjoy the game and I don't think the experience itself will be enough for people to buy tickets to this event if UT goes back in the next couple of years. The last thing you want is to have an event like this only sell 50% of the seats or there abouts. That would be a PR nightmare and a national embarrassment for the program. It will be interesting to hear the feedback from people sitting in different sections after this game. Again, I'm glad we're there and will be enjoying the epic beat down of Va tech from the comfort of my living room. Go Big Orange!

On this board it is likely to be mostly rah rah, it was great. Get them where no one else can hear.

Translation: "anything that helps me tell you how turrible it is/was, that's true. Anything that shows I was wrong, that's just VolNation being homers."

You keep going, LawGator, we're enjoying this display of jealousy. Hopefully, this is what the next 20-30 years are going to look like, routinely. :)

Its OK I use to live in/around Orlando, Heathrow as a matter of fact. In the armpit of Florida with all the liberal, Hilary loving, gun bashing melting pot that is Orlando I know how hard it is to not follow the crowd and step out to be a leader and trend setter. its OK your halfway there. Your already on our forum. You obviously enjoy the company here. So when your ready just ask your wife to get your balls out of her purse and come all the way in brother. We will welcome you with open arms and forgive all your past transgressions. As a matter of fact I have 1 single ticket, right next to me and my hot wife. Free to you. Meet me there and I will personally had it to you. You can enjoy the day, see what we have to offer this year, buy me a beer and when its all said and done we will baptize you in our color Orange and you will be free. That sounds like one hell of a deal to me. You in?

Ha ha, now that's the spirit! I've thought about coming to the UF-Tenn game, but I haven't the nerve to endure the ridicule after the beat down I expect the Gators to endure.

I don't think its jealousy, I think its a valid point. Now I've agreed with a gator, excuse my while I go burn my clothes and shower...

Meh, its just going to be a very different experience than normal games. I'm sure that they have come up with things to keep people entertained during the game even when its difficult to deal with the distances involved. Ways to see it on the jumbos, etc.

People are just going to have to realize it will be a different atmosphere and adjust their expectations about it.

If the gators were to play there in lets say, 2018, would you buy a ticket?

The only thing I disagree with in your entire post is - being happy when it's over.
I for one, am absolutely revelling in witnessing all the jealousy and butthurt.
Everyone going is still absolutely pumped, despite all the attempts to bring them down. And why shouldn't they be? They have Colossus there, DVR the game for anything they want to see again, and they're basically going to get to attend the world's greatest tailgate party.

Wish I was able to make it, but wish nothing but the absolute best for everyone that does.
Still, I'm going to miss reading jackasses lashing out.(They don't really care, that's why they keep finding threads to comment on, over and over, blah blah blah).
It just soothes my soul. :)

No, I'm old enough that for me its all about the atmosphere of going back to the place I had so many great experiences. Its a nostalgia thing once you get past about 40 years old, trust me.

Now, the Gators do play Miami here in Orlando next year and I'll go to that. But its at a regular stadium and I think its fair to say that it will have a unique, but familiar vibe.
