you think they can't take down a fence in 3 weeks? thats something you can do rain or shine. only time you need to stop is lightning. in 3 weeks I think I could do that by myself with no help.

A good sawzall long extension cord and a couple packs of blades and I'm thinking 2-3 days it's down. 👍🏼

Due to the rain delay, BMS is 24 hours behind schedule converting the infield to a football field for Sept 10. It's a very intense schedule as it is and now 24 hours behind. Hopefully weather dries up and they won't lose any more time.

There was plenty of extra time built into the schedule. Per a friend that works with Bristol, the race could have been delayed until Tuesday or Wednesday, and they still would have been fine.

The catch fence does not come down as easy as you would think and I think they have to put some up in other places as well I know Its a big project

Never said they were trying to grow a field, I said I was concerned that a field that has never had a major football game on it would be ready in a matter of days. I would venture to guess it has never even held a practice on it. You never know how turf will hold up that has never been played on. I also stated that I hoped it was going to be played on turf not grass. I was concerned about players getting hurt. I could care less what the surface is as long as it is ready for play.

With artificial turf, you know exactly how it is going to hold up, no matter if it's been played on before or not.

Astroturf lays down these fields all the time, and they are ready to be played on the second the last stitch is sown. In this case, the field is coming pre-lined and numbered, so they won't even have to do any stitching on site. They will put it down, and it will be done. Even with the one-day delay, the field will be ready to be played on eight full days before the game.

They are removing the fencing, but the posts will remain in place. Because they are doing it that way, it will take less than a week to remove the entire fence. Removing the posts that have been sunk into the concrete walls would have required the entire concrete wall to be removed, which would've been a month or longer project. That's why they aren't doing it that way.

But how long does it take to grow Astro Turf that is the question. Not to mention it only grows in Houston and it's been rainy there.

plasma cutter could take it down quick, and I have a very good idea of what it would take to do this project.

I know they are leaving the post I'm sure they have planned for some delays and other stuff but they planned on starting today so they are BEHIND SCHEDULE I have no doubt they will be done in time

I swear, the people that continue to complain about this game are starting to get the better of me. It is going to fly without a hitch, and it is going to be an amazing spectacle.

If you don't want to go, or if you don't like the idea, or if you are just a negative person by nature: don't go. Watch from home and witness the feat executed to near-perfection. The guys planning this event go BIG, and they don't fail.

This is a HUGE opportunity for our program, and we could benefit for many years from the publicity, recruiting, etc. Take a chill pill and enjoy the ride.

I can't for the life of me understand some people who see the negative in everything in life. This game is going to be legendary

this, I think the complainers are either non vol fans that don't want to see this happen because the largest amount of fans for a football game ever, or some of our fans that want to complain about losing a home game.

Other than bringing in some of the dirt for a media event today, which was obviously cancelled, there was no actual work scheduled for today. So they're actually not behind on the fence or anything else at all.

But thanks for playing VolNation Overreaction Theatre.
