We replace them

Jarrett Guarantano
- more talented then Dobbs

Kelly and Chandler
- both breakaway threats

McDowell, Sapp
- Two very fast athletic LBs


- You did say Martin was the most talented? How about Osborne?
Then theres Byrd moving back to DB

- K Phillips, D Taylor, Kongbo, A Smith.

Butch hasn't been sitting on his hands. We have talent itching to get on the field.

You should know this by now. Are you truly paying attention??

Guarantano might be more talented but he'll still be a redshirt freshmen and lol @ thinking Kelly and Chandler compare to 2 five-star RBs.

Sorry to break it to you but we have no RBs on our roster or in the recruiting pipeline with anywhere close to the talent of Hurd and Kamara.

Ridiculous to suggest those guys could be better.

Well, here's the fun part.

We will actually have a passing attack in 2017 ☺.

So no, Kelly and Chandler won't be like what we have, but they'll keep us balanced!

And our defense will have a a boat load of talented veterans.

Running the ball at an elite level correlates more to winning than passing at a high level.

And I don't know how you think the defense will be better after losing its 3 best players. Barnett, JRM, and Sutton.

Once again, I think we'll be good in 2017. Maybe even national title champs. But to suggest we'll be BETTER after losing our top 6 players from 2016 is kinda dumb.

Even if you think Dobbs isn't good, you don't get BETTER by losing your 2 best RBs and 3 best defensive players.

Have I missed some info/praise on bituli?

Is he suspected to get a lot of PT to where he could potentially start near the end of the season?

I don't think Ty Chandler deserves a lol. He is the 5th or 6th best Running Back in the country and he has similar potential talent level as Hurd or Kamara. I still think we have an outside shot at Cam Akers.

And our talented talented defense (which u dont want to acknowledge)
will be in year 2 of Shoop.

I love Dobbs, but he's been inconsistent throwing the football. He's not what u make him out to be. But he can still do big things.

I think I saw a quote from Shoop on here that had Bituli as 4th string to Kirkland. I could be wrong but thought the pecking order for MLB was Kirkland/Jumper/Bynum/Bituli. He'll play special teams for sure but don know that he'll play any meaningful snaps on D unless Kirkland and Jumper (I cringe!!!) go down.

Bynum's not in the MLB mix...last work was at Star...maybe you meant Bryant?

Luck plays a big role in winning championships. Look no further than the 4th down miracle by Arkansas to beat Ole Miss that put Alabama through.

I think 2016 is our best shot at a championship. IMO we are the clear cut best team. Better than Bama and better than FSU (who I believe are the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the country).

Next year IMO we'll fall back to the pack and be just one of 5-6 elite teams. We can still one but it won't be as easy. We'll probably need some luck.

Nice job, I agree except for the calls about about Bituli and Warrior as True Freshman

1, I suspect most times we see a 3rd or 4th linebacker it will be Sapp and or McDowell

2. Gaulden seems to be a legit Safety and too good to be a specialist. I suspect Warrior to slide in during more nickel and dime packages with Gaulden being an every down guy

Because that's about all that's leaving. There's only like 11 seniors on the team. 4/5 OL linemen return, stud WRs who should be really good, both Wolfs, they are excited about the other DEs + JRs KMac and Tuttle, and you have Kirkland still and veteran DBs plus Warrior should be great.

Dont misunderstand, Hurd and Kamara are amazing and Dobbs is a HUGE piece to the puzzle, but this isn't like when Bray Patterson and Hunter left and the team sucked. Dormady or JG can be serviceable and Kelly Fils-Aime and Chandler hopefully will be a decent trio and with a really good defense can win the East again. They might now have to be great if a QB is the real deal on throwing to guys like PWilly Byrd... Heck why name the WRs I think every one is coming back.
Of course another reason they could be better is if UT underachieves this season ;)

Edit: plus future AA punter and kicker returning! Lol

Plus, Butcher had the off the field incident before his freshman season too that placed him in Butch's doghouse as well.

It's more than just health and Butch's doghouse IMO. We're not gonna hear from Butcher given all the DE talent on this team. For crying out loud, Darell Taylor who's a far superior athlete to Butcher is 3rd string right now. Also, Andrew was recruited as a 245-250lb DE....now he's supposedly up to 275. Where in the world is he gonna play at that weight? Too big for his 6'2 frame to play DE, too small to slide down to DT. Jmo. I think he's been recruited over and is going to have a very difficult time ever seeing the field at Tennessee.

It was just posted in another thread that Butcher has been officially moved to straight DT instead of the hybrid DE/DT that they(coaching staff) mentioned a while back.

It's what he thinks or hopes by end of season. It's pretty close to the legit one now. For the VT game we won't have Hall at RT and probably not Tuttle at DT. Also, Bituli won't be near a starter yet, though I think we will mostly only have 2 LBs on the field.

I'll see if I can find that for you. I'm pretty sure it was in the main football discussion thread from the recruiting section. I go through so many threads per day.

I will try my best to find it. I believe it was posted by a regular poster but the quote about it was from Hubbs or one of the other coaches.

It was from yesterday though so hopefully it won't be too hard to find. I'll just type Butcher's name in the search box in the recruiting forum to start & go from there. Thanks!
