Clinton Told FBI Colin Powell Recommended Private Email: Sources - NBC News

Hillary Clinton told the FBI that former Secretary of State Colin Powell recommended on two occasions that she use a private email account for unclassified communication, sources told NBC News early Friday.

According to the Democratic nominee, Powell made the suggestions at a small dinner party shortly after Clinton took over at the State Department in 2009 and in an email exchange around the same time, The New York Times first reported. Two sources later confirmed to NBC News that Clinton gave that account to investigators in July.

if Powell had his own email, i bet there was no classified info sent. Powell isn't the power hungry animal that clinton is.

Anything but taking responsibility for her actions. She is worse than a 6 year old fat kid getting their finger's caught in the cookie jar. It's everything else, but me that made me do that........she is literally worse than any adolescent and supplies the same excuses they would.

The deal with email was that info was of the least important classified sort and that there was good precedent among high level officials for bending the rules a little, or executive privilege, to use the term of the prosecutors. Bringing charges against Hillary would have sparked a fairly massive shake out the highest level, and the information was of least importance, so no charges filed. Makes sense to me.

It only makes sense to those that view political parties like the college team they support. The fact that this is not very important because others have done it is sheep like and silly. Its not a surprise that this is the main point being pushed now.

This also ignores the bigger sin (not counting the classified stuff that is) of using your own server. Even if Powell made this suggestion his use of "private" email was on a publicly available email system that is subject to FOIA and other requests.

Clinton ensured no one could access her emails through legal challenge but hosted them herself.

She is really being dishonest on this issue.

That's out of character for her.

Another thing - has anyone found any email at all from Clinton that wasn't on her own server? How could every single bit of her email communication be done on her own server and not include classified.

Stunning that people defend her on this and she uses these flimsy excuses.

El Carlos would still defend her if a pic of her surfaced of her holding a gun to Fosters head.

Shocked I tell you. Shocked.

I personally think there needs to be a Select Committee on this,. In fact, isn't it about time the House GOP leadership just create a Standing Committee on Investigating Everything and Anything About the Clintons?

To save money, they could just use some of the spare closet room at Fox to hold "hearings."

No, that would be a complete waste of time. A better use of money and in the pursuit of justice would be appoint a special prosecutor and empanel a Grand Jury. You know like they did back in the olden days so there was at least a semblance of impartiality.

No need for a committee - it's all out there for anyone to see. Her seeking cover from implicating Powell is just one more example of her utter guilt on the issue.

Not really. 99% of the population is technologically retarded. Just because you can use a smart phone and surf the web doesn't make one technically adept.

Seriously. The other day I hear someone in the front office ask for help on how to use their new laptop. The reason was their old computer was a..desk top....

Obviously, as shown by her complete inability to put Sanders away in the primary and her inability to dispense with Trump in the general.
