It's certainly possible. Butch just seems more comfortable rolling with veterans or guys with at least some experience at first. Makes me think Abernathy may get the nod to start the year.

Yeah me too. It's crazy it's even an option with the Saftey depth. Shows you just how special he is going to be. Kid just a dang ball hawk. It could be pick city with him and TK at S

Not when you have Bolt that's set the 100m record time more than once.

Lewis didn't run as fast a 100m time as Bolt though. I'm talking about overall in their careers & not just for the Olympics. Bolt has the fastest 100m time ever. It will not be broken & if it does most of us won't be around to see it.

Bolt ran a 9.58 & Lewis personal best ever was a 9.86. That's not very close & not a good comparison to Bolt. Gatlin would be better than using Lewis as a comparison in the 100m events.

9.58 will be topped within 25 years.

Sports science has developed at an incredible rate over the last 25 years. Sure, there is much to learn, but much like the smartphone, the greatest advancements have been made.

Eventually there will be a point where the times will hit a brick wall because of the human body.

And I think that is where we are heading soon.

I know my previous statement can be picked apart. Sure, one day, smartphones may be as thin as paper, and just respond to voice, or whatever, but where the technology is now, it's about topped out, with the exception of thinner, lighter, faster.

The human body is the limitation in sport, once knowledge has been applied.

I never thought Michael Johnsons 400 record would be broken and it was tonight.

I bet we see a sub 9.50 in the 100 in the next 10-15 years.

But no one will ever be as dominant as Bolt has been.

He is the perfect sprinter.

Bolt is a HUGE outlier. It'll be a minute before we see his WR broken. It took 30 years to go from 9.95 to 9.8. That was in 2000. Even looking at a really aggressive linear progression means that you wouldn't see a time like Bolt's until 2040.

Of course, if you scientists start tweaking genes and AI is used to determine the perfect stride the record probably won't last very long. I'd say post-singularity world records will probably have an asterisk.

From 50m-200m, yes. He's not close to perfect <50m.

It will take someone as good as he is from 50m AND better <50m. I'm pretty skeptical I will ever see that combination in my lifetime (and I'm 28).

Twitter has been screwed up for the last few weeks I've had the same problem I called them out and mine was restored but still very slow to load I assume it's due to my right wing constitution loving a$$

Yeah I deleted my account over that bs in March when they started their leftist Stalin type purging. Cannot support that

Just curious for those in the know, but is a 4.85 40 a decent time for a HS freshman as a safety?

That's probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

We haven't even begun to scratch the surface on the potential of computer technology.

Don't get it twisted, the smartphone is no new invention. Its simply a miniaturized computer. Following a decades long trend of computers getting smaller and more powerful. What you call a smartphone today will be a nanabot the size of a blood cell in 20-30 years. It will connect non-invasively to your brain cells and send data directly to the brain.

That is what the future holds. And this is just stuff we are working on right now in terms of research. Imagine all the stuff people haven't even dreamed of yet that will be possible.

It's not elite, but a lot of kids don't even know how to run a 40. Terrell Owens clocked a 4.7 at the combine...def faster than that. Is the kid going to camp in the next few seasons? They work on fundamentals that help. Does he PLAY faster than the kids around him? Standing out in that department will attract more college scouts. Don't know your relationship, but get him involved with the track team.
