Jennings.

Probably a safe bet. I see Smith and Jennings splitting the slot to add size and versatility with Jennings in. He did have some work to do with blocking though. Won't know until the season starts if he improved in that area but with his work ethic I would think he has.

A ton of praise to PW and Johnson for catching everything... Lot of praise for Malone making nice grabs... Since Im not seeing anything on Josh Smith... I hope he isn't contributing to the dropped passes! He is one of my fav Vols. Or does he have an injury I missed?

No injury and no news is good news for him.

is butcher hurt?

Freshman defensive end Andrew Butcher (knee) will miss the start of camp.

Sorry I took that from a post earlier today and it was last year but it does appear he is injured.

I hope we cut the rotation down to primarily Malone, PWill, Smith and Jennings personally.....unless one of the young guys are just too good to keep off the field. Otherwise, play those 4 primarily and only pull them when they need a breather.

In other words, play a NORMAL receiver rotation? Lol

I hope Butch will see what kind of damage good WR's can do when they build a rythem in a game and get in "the zone" so to speak. Maybe rotate some of the other guys but at the very least whichever guy/guys prove to be go to guys, let them play a few series before giving him/them a breather.

Those 4 guys seem to be our premier guys. You can play them alot and sub one a few plays, then put him back in and sub one of the other for a few plays etc and keep them fresh yet let them build up enough snaps and rythem with Dobbs to get the most out of the passing game while still giving the young guys plenty of chances to see what they can do.

I know it is early, and maybe they are holding back on the praise on purpose of Mckenzie, but surprised with all the work he has put in to get in better shape he is not dominating reps.

He is just not all of them. Mckenzie will be fine. Don't worry and GBO!!

I am not sure what you meant by "He is just not all of them", but I agree I think he will be fine, just expected to hear him dominating guys more.

EDIT: I get what you are saying now... that he is not winning all of them. I just think they are making sure not to point out how much he is winning though so not to pump him up too much.

He had a follow up knee scope a week or two ago. Hope he gets healthy soon.

Maybe he isn't any good.

Part of the problem in past seasons might have been the fact we had too much talent at the WR position. When you have Smith, Malone, VP, North, Pig (before he was dismissed), P-Will and others, it's hard to pick a set line up out of that group. Add in the talent at the TE position we had and you have a situation where it's hard to have a breakaway receiver like other schools. And even harder for a QB to get into a rhythm with all of them.

As much as I like having a lot of talented receivers on the roster, I'd almost prefer having one or two go to play makers in tune with Dobbs with a supporting cast of solid players backing them up.
