You'd think SEC Network would not hire these clowns who cannot let old rivalries die and keep the bias from their playing days. Hopefully this clown will not last past this year...of course I had hoped that last year as well....

BTW he basically said Vols are overhyped YET said Vandy would be in a bowl game. All credibility is lost...

Pundits. Doering's just one of many, so let's just allow ourselves to ease into the season without blowing any fuses. It's just that time of year. Let's go 120! This is our year!

Did he offer any specifics as to why he held this opinion or was he just running his mouth? Except for McElroy, I've found the SEC Network to be short on analysis. They act just like typical fans.

What are these people supposed to say.

John wooden used to have a saying that if everyone is thinking the same thing than no one is thinking.

It's the preseason. No one knows a damn thing or they'd all be heading to Vegas. I sure as hell didn't have Florida winning 10 games last season. I didn't have Missouri winning the East two years in a row. I didn't have Auburn playing for a national title the year after going 0-8 in SEC play.

i feel like I'm crazy because I seem like the only guy out there who thinks Georgia will win the East.

I didn't have a problem with him not buying UT as a playoff contender.

It was when he said 5/10 that LSU is the best team in the whole conference... You know, a team who vastly underachieved and has zero QB but said UT is overrated cuz he doesn't trust Dobbs.

Ok bro.

Said Del Rio would have started last year over Grier if eligible. Said he is perfect for this offense and the receivers are very talented and will have a good year. Also, thinks UF defense will keep them in games. In closing, he said until Tennessee proves they can beat the Gators, he can't pick against UF.

Had a logical approach to picking the Gators but his co host still called him a homer.

He is entitled to his opinion and the SECN has given him a platform to express it. He thinks we're overrated? That's fine...but why?

Well now that you mention it... I think UT and UF are much better prepared to win SEC East. UGA lines on both sides are inferior to both UT and UF

I would love to embarrass them like we did a few times in the early 90's. The 92 game 31-14 is not quiet enough though like to see it like Spurrier's 1st year 45-3 in 1990.

All the more awesome.

Vandy making a bowl isn't that far fetched. Believe it or not they were close to winning 6 last year and have a lot of starters back.

Flame away

And his arrogant little chuckle when asked if he was buying into the UT hype, didn't sit well either...

I think they go 4-8 again. For them to get to 6 wins, they will have to win 2 out of these 4: Home South Carolina, At Georgia Tech, At Kentucky or At Missouri.

I don't see it happening.

If Vandy wins against Missouri, Kentucky and/or South Carolina (all divisional foes) and picks off their three of their non-conference games, they are in a bowl. That is entirely possible.

Expectations are so high for us this year that it's smart for a so-called "expert" to hedge his bets. A team needs a lot of things to come together to make it to a championship and they're beating the odds when they do make it. If he goes along with the hype, he's just another voice among many. But if we happen to slip along the way, he can claim that he saw it all along. He's really not saying anything that's all that crazy, IMO.

Cant really argue with much he said. He knows more about UF football than we do. UF will again field a very good defense. Now whether or not Del Rio will be as good as he thinks remailns to be seen. However, some UT fans see us boatracing UF and thats a little foolish IMO. I do think we will win that game but IMO it will be a hard fought, close game.

Said it in another thread but preparing for GT is tough to do in a week not saying GT is awesome

Thought the same thing. He said we weren't good due to being one dimensional and lsu was good for the same thing.

Why Georgia 99?
