The low-level mental gymnastics it takes to support Trump, even on rational principles (like he'll nominate conservative Supreme Court justices at a crucial time in that court's history), stagger me. However, the Olympic-quality, Gold Medal mental gymnastics it takes to be a Trump true believer I cannot even process. That's so far beyond the pale that my mind can't comprehend it. Clinton true believerism, I understand. I don't agree with it; I think it dangerous, but I understand. Trump true believerism absolutely knocks me flat. For the life of me, I just don't get it.

Truth be told, I didn't give a ****. I just think all the outrage is fake as hell.

Some folks will look for anything to ***** about. We need to focus on the serious issues. We are one paycheck away from having to move home to mamas(England)

Of course it's impossible to prove, but I'm convinced that the primary reason why Obama makes some people foam at the mouth like no other president in history is simply that he's black. As such, he's perceived as un-American, and they will scrutinize every single action of his far more harshly than they would normally with any other white, male president. It can't be his "authoritarianism." I was actually duped by that reason offered by the rabid anti-Obama crowd in the past, but that crowd forfeited its "it's because he's the biggest authoritarian in our nation's history" excuse by going out and supporting a far greater authoritarian than Obama in Trump. Clearly, authoritarianism has nothing to do with why they hate Obama.

On a related note, I'm also convinced that the reason why Hillary also makes so many foam at the mouth unlike other corrupt Democrats is because she's a woman. The woman is practically a moderate Republican; she's hardly a "leftist authoritarian." Give me a break.

And posters on here refer to Obama as the "most divisive president in history" Maybe they didn't look at dubya's ratings his second term. And I'm referring to Gallup, not a poll similar to "shoebat" or rushlimbaughpoll.com.

What this entire election is about has nothing to do with a black man or a white woman being president. What it's all about is the lack of good paying jobs available for the masses. That's why there is such a big emphasis for a higher minimum wage.

The manufacturing jobs left with a big "sucking sound" just as was predicted when NAFTA was passed.

Maybe it's because I've spent an unreasonable amount of time on this site over the years, but literally no one - that person that LG referenced in another thread - speaks about Bush in the vitriolic language and with the raw hate with which they speak about Obama. It's not even close. The fact of the matter is that Bush II was by far a worse president, and he also significantly expanded the powers of the executive. That man did more damage to this country and this republic than Obama could do in four or five terms, yet hardly anyone, including myself, speaks of him with the language that many in our society (and on here especially) reserve for Obama.

You can try to trick me all you want, but I'm not falling for the "he's the most authoritarian president in our history" trick anymore. I don't buy it. You ain't gonna Trump me into believing that pile of nonsense anymore. You will eat your Trump and you will like it.

Funny you should say that, because I do go on to "progressive" sites. And there I am as outraged by the things that are said as I am by those here. But very little have I ever encountered those with the sheer vitriolic hate of Bush as I find here and elsewhere for Obama.

Cheney, sure. He's a complete piece of filth. He ran this country for 8 years and is a piece of excrement. But not Bush. Bush is often just seen as some dumb well-meaning thing.

It's interesting, I go on here, as a Republican now, mind you, and I'm a "crazy liberal." I go on liberal sites, and I'm a "crazy conservative." My wife, a staunch liberal, often castigates me for my "fascism," while my father-in-law (the real fascist, although he doesn't have enough sense to admit it) accuses me of being a "communist."

I can't win for losing, but that's probably a good thing. In this Twitter-hypnotized, ridiculous emotional cybercommunications political world (where we act before thinking) it means I'm a practical moderate. Which is exactly where I squarely place myself on the spectrum.
