I'm a strong believer in firing people for simple stupidity.

This is one of those cases.

IMO firings are just around the corner. Suspensions were just the first step. A&M may have hoped suspensions would take care of this, but with the media attention and the seriousness of this situation firings will eventually be the outcome.

Don't listen too much country music nowadays since it is mostly garbage...but I finally picked up Chris Stapleton's album "Traveller". Fantastic album.

He good.

Add Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, and Ryan Bingham to the rotation. I don't like to label things country anymore since it doesn't exist, but all are solid singer/songwriters.

Watching the Color Orange

Did condredge's daughter end up attending Tennessee?

Btw she is beautiful. I say that as classy as an old man can say it

That really should have been offensive pass interference, but I get your point. Malone knocked the guy down so he couldn't defend the pass. I'm sure we were due a no call anyways. Our WR do a great job blocking; when Hurd scored against Bama at the end I think it was either Pearson or Malone who had a great block on the edge.

Nah that was just a really solid hard nosed block. The UGA player wasn't trying to intercept and couldn't be interfered with in terms of offensive PI because he wasn't making a play on the ball/attempting to intercept. (At least that's how I've always heard NCAA PI rules explained).

All that block did was insure that no one would be tackling Smith any time soon as long as he caught an otherwise pretty damned open pass.

Ladies and gentleman...this is the final weekend without football until February 11. I know it's not college but NFL preseason begins next week.

Watching it today! Saw the story on ESPN.

Anyone see the story on ESPN about a girl in NC with MS who fought her circumstance, took up track, and became a multiple state champ and is now running at Libscomb. This young lady is extremely inspirational and I was happy to watch it with my daughter.

I think it was the same I saw on E60. She has to be caught by her coach at the end?
If so, I hadn't seen the update that she's doing it at the next level...good stuff.

That's her, unbelievable. I ran track and cross-country in college and knowing the difficulties involved, it makes the story that much more incredible.

I know it's a popular joke to talk about our WRs blocking ability. However, I've been watching the Tenn vs. UGA game and I just saw one of our WRs (Malone, I think) block an UGA defender into next Sunday. THAT enabled Josh Smith to go for six and turn the game around. I'd never really noticed it before but that block was yuuuuge.

Malone looked like a 5 star versus UGA and Bama. Don't know why he can't play like that week in and week out.

VQ guys on those podcast seemed to indicate he's turned a corner this summer and to expect big things this year.

Yeah they have mentioned his name a lot recently. Basically him and Preston Williams are expected to be the big stars at WR this year. And of course we still have the always reliable Josh Smith, who will somehow STILL be around in 2017. I think he could fly under the NCAA radar and keep playing at UT until he's 30 if he wanted to.

Show it to me in the Fall. He killed in the Spring Game last year too. Had me pumped up for nothing. Lol

Malone didn't have a ton of competition from younger guys last season. Now he has guys like Johnson/George/Byrd/Williams/Callaway trying to earn playing time. He's gotta step it up or risk losing his starting spot IMO.

Just saw Stapleton in concert Thursday night. Musically he's solid live, but it's more of a coffee shop concert feel instead of a big production.

Posted this in another thread but wanted to post it here and then leave the worries of recruiting and focus on a big fun year. Got to get this off my chest and not a posivol but hope I am a realistic and ground one.

We and everyone else has heard the hype that UT is now elite. 5,7,9 wins is a good trend and what I wanted to see. The pattern would be to get to 11 wins. That should put us in elite status and in the SEC championship game. We have depth now and should have several NFL draft pick with the very first year the senior class is actually Jones recruits. We would've have three drafted if the big three had not returned but would not trade those guys coming back just to say we had NFL draft picks. Also, unlike Dooley, we are recruting lineman and he got a rank bump because of classes made up of so many skill guys. Lower rated 4 stars who did not have big offer lists for the most part.

It was a false impression that those classes looked better than what they really were. We are going up against the elite programs when we recruit and that was not happening before Butch. He has to win this year just like any other program when they are ready to make the final leap. I think they will do it. Then we will get even more of the targets in the 18 class and beyond as long as we keep winning and putting guys in the NFL. It is not complicated but when you shoot for the stars and the guys you go up against have been top 10 programs over the last few years, it is an uphill battle. He has won some of these this year and I think they will win some more. This class is heavy on DL and rightfully so. Who cares Crosby got bumped down. He still looks like four star talent. We are stacked in all positions with depth and talent outside of running back and they seem to be focused to get that and DL this cycle after missing out last cycle. It seems like a good plan. We have talent in skill positions for the next three years and will get them knocking down the door once we win this year. Then this thing will keep on building and building.

On the other hand, team goes south this year then the job get much tougher and 17 has to be a great year or else we would be hiring a new coach by 2019. Butch knows this and has his plan. Watch him execute it. It will either work and things will be great. Or it will not, and he will be fired. So far it's been good. This place was a dumpster fire of the highest level with the lack of talent, speed, and especially lineman when you removed the five starters who were all seniors. Go Vols!
