Not deciding anytime soon so no reason to worry about Crystal Balls.
Exactly. This season is going to be huge for us. It's going to play a much bigger role in recruiting than it has in awhile.
If we win big this year, I think it's going to be what pushes us over the edge with recruits. I think it also helps that OSU should face a slightly tougher Big 10 than normal (although it isn't harder to be tougher) so if they were to falter during a few games while we are showing continuous improvement, we could see guys like Akers, EJ, and Gibbs start to flip back our way.
Yeah several are in wait and see mode because they have people chirping that Butch can't win big. Meeting our expectations and winning SEC east would go along way with Chandler, Akers, Smith, Wade and Gibbs.
Thoughts on if you have the choice between Chandler and Akers? Watching their highlights, Chandler is faster, has better form, can catch the ball really well out of the backfield, and plays against top competition in Tennessee since he goes to MBA (is also most likely a smarter individual in general, MBA is a really good school). I'm not knocking Akers, because he's definitely fast and can break tackles really well. But I just think Chandler is the better bet here. Also, keeping a top guy in-state is really important (would be signing an Ole Miss legacy too).

Akers has mostly played QB so he would be a little behind in experience at the RB position but all the talent is there. FWIW calling Chandler an Ole Miss legacy is a stretch.

EDIT: Signing Chandler would give us Kelly, Fils-Aime and Chandler as the top three in the depth chart next season. That's some serious speed and talent.

If you said Hayden over Akers you would lose what little credibility you still had on here...oh wait. I'm just getting this breaking news...you have none.
