I am against every other SEC team always period. I don't care about SOS. Bama, Florida, auburn, ect didn't need UT to be good when they were making title runs to get in the title game nor did our suckage during that time diminish their accomplishments. Therefore, I wish them all the worst of luck and hope they all lose every game.

P.S. Go Vols!

Well said. I've got no beef with that. The football talking heads will speak of #120 when talking about when the Vols took over the SEC.

Never will I ever root for Florida, Georgia or Alabama under any circumstance. And when they happen to play each other I hope they both make each other look as bad as possible

I don't pull for teams we recruit against day in and day out. Go SEC as a rule is bs, SOS will be fine if Vols take care of business. GoVols!
Teams I always pull to lose
Alabama
Florida
Georgia
Notre dame
Florida st.
USC Trojans

I seriously doubt all your "pulling for" has much effect on the outcome.

Neither does wearing orange to games as fans but we all do it. What's your point? I don't want some teams to win, ever, Big deal. I'm glad you thought that was important enough to respond.

Oh, so UT fans in Neyland don't matter, but non-fans pulling against other SEC teams from the comfort of a couch does. Check.

No, the rest of the conference is battling for the same recruits we are, winning helps their chances.

Ignorance.

4 playoff spots to be filled by 5 P5 conferences (and yes, 4 teams from 4 different conferences is the way it will always shake out).

The people screaming "Screw the SEC!! Them other teams can all go to heyell!!!! I hope they lose every game, and when they play each other I hope somehow they both lose!!" don't realize that if each P5 conference has an undefeated team, the weakest conference doesn't get it. Yet in their dream world the SEC is a conference of nothing but losing teams and Tennessee.

This is an argument that goes around in circles, and the pro-SEC crew always makes the more valid point. The "screw the SEC" crew just comes across as unintelligent. Oh, and as for recruiting, go ahead and cheer for Clemson to beat Auburn guys. "Screw the SEC!" right? Maybe if we're lucky after Clemson wins they'll give us one of our recruits back.

When it comes to cheering for other SEC teams, it all depends on who they're playing. Unless it's Alabama, Florida or Vanderbilt. I'll always want them to lose no matter what.

But then again, I hate USC. Maybe they can both lose somehow...

to pull for another conference to beat an sec team is saying you don't think the sec is the best conference. I don't like Alabama, flordia, or vaderbilt either but I want them to beat any team in another conference. go to cbs sports or espn and see what others from their conference are say especially when a team of theirs beats a sec team.

Georgia is cleaning up in recruiting and they are usually our most direct competition for recruits...so why the **** would I ever root for them to win anything ever? Go Tar Heels.

Our conference should be eternally indebted to us for all the nice big wins that we gave them during the Doolittle era. :cray:

Oh, they are my friend, they are in debt to the Vols. Team 120 sent out 13 delinquency notices to the sec that it's time to pay the piper starting this season! Ish...just...got...real

I usually pull for our conference unless it's against a team Im cool with that's playing against bama or Florida. I can't bring myself to pull for those 2 and outside the sec I can't stand tOSU, USC, Irish, Clemson, Texas, fsu, and I may be forgetting a few.

Any other sec team I will pull for against other conference teams.

Appreciate your condescending post but let's get one thing straight. There is no chance, ever, that the SEC would be the weakest of the power 5 conferences. Ever.

Okay, I've done as most the last several months, log on and read, shake my head, force myself to Not say something due to the topics absurdity.

Alas, we are a few weeks away, I am as excited as most here and am hoping for a dominant season. We were moved to Thursday for our first game, at first it upset me, but looking at the first Saturday it seems many games are on which will be significant. So after thinking about it Thursday is fine by me.

I am rambling, my question here is: do most of us cheer for the SEC on that first Saturday, or will you do as I will do, become a PAC12 fan? I have made up my mind already, moan if needed but give reason;

-I am pulling for NC vs. GA.
-I am for Auburn vs Clemson
-I am for LSU vs Wisconsin
-I am for Ole Miss vs Fla St.
-I am pulling for A&M vs UCLA (for strength of schedule)
- and I am for the first time in my life a PAC 12 fan with Southern Cal. vs Alabama

What say you. also I want to say no matter what happens this year, let's all support our team..... and hope we kick ass!😂

I'm with you except I will be pulling for Fla. State against Ole Miss. Can not pull for the hypocrite Hugh Freeze. JMO

The problem with your argument is that we (the SEC) don't ever have to worry about being the weakest conference. We WILL win most of our big OOC games as a whole... so wishing that Smart stumbles out of the gates and Bama gets an early one in the L column is just that, wishing. It probably won't happen cause our conference holds the talent edge, but if it does happen, it isn't gonna make the difference in UT being selected for the playoff or not.

So keep pulling for your biggest rivals in hopes that our schedule is ranked 6th hardest instead of 12th.
The rest of us are gonna keep the true spirit of college football fan-hood alive by hating our neighbor every chance we get.

Not fine by me because now I have to take a vacation day to watch us beat App. State. Then potentially still have to work while all of the other games are on lol.

Guys, you are short-sighted. There was a time, not that long ago, when the B10 was widely seen as the power conference in college football (in the eyes of the nation as a whole), with the PAC not far behind. Some of us are too young to remember those days...but some of us aren't.

The SEC was considered okay, but not all that and a bag of chips. We were one of the conferences who would've gotten left out of the conversation some years, if there were a 4-team playoff back then.

Thing is, fortunes ebb and flow. There will one day be another period where the SEC is not king of the hill. I hope it is decades away. In the meantime, don't take our dominance for granted.

It is hella cool being among the best, being associated with the best. And the only way we stay here, in our coveted seat atop the pile, is by collectively winning a WHOLE lot more than we lose, out of conference, against good teams and bad.

So yeah, I remember. And I'm always going to cheer for the SEC team to win OOC.
