Ohio st just set the record for most draft picks in a draft and we had 0 for second straight year. Now does it make sense?

Had to have 1 spot left

We turned newsome away because we were out spots but the kid today has to count toward 2016.

I find it odd we never heard about Lewis signing and I think they means he is a walk on now.

I do think some things are odd that we are taking so many but this staff is better with their numbers than I am. no reason to worry. Butch has shown he will upgrade his commit list if someone come along late. Each year we see several guys Butch is early on that poster cry about then they get bumps and people freak out if they start looking around. Never ending cycle that always ends up with Butch Jones laughing on NSD

It's cool some use whichever ranking is higher, I just can't. I thought about it a long time as I use to just use Rivals. I use 247 composite now for every recruit. Just seems the most reasonable to take the average.

It was 1 spot left for 2016. Saw it posted in another thread. Now, the 206 class is completely full.

I look at them all because just like every school evaluates differently so does each site. to disregard that a site does in fact have them as a four star is just to push a negative agenda/storyline

No it isn't. Choosing to use the rankings that average all 4 major sites is not being negative. Come on man.

Players didn't like him. I forgot who reported it but someone said after signing day that the players came to Butch and said after his OV that Dickerson wasn't a guy who would fit into the culture.

Yes that was internet rumor but there was also another recruit we were hoping for late in the cycle that we missed on ether on NSD or the day before.
Easily could have left us with an open spot

Very possible. Chemistry is important. That said, I doubt Butch sat on any open scholarships last class. If he could take more he would have.

Do you see Butch digging up recruits this cycle? He's half way to China on a few of these. He had late NSD options I'm sure last cycle.

I just find it interesting that all of the insiders on this board have basically disappeared or are posting very little. Even before the Tee fiasco, but this is just the strangest recruiting cycle I have seen especially under Butch. And we continue the hand wringing, excuses, and hoping the class will change greatly after a hopefully successful season- but clearly something is just off this cycle. Anyone who really doesn't think that, I need some of what you are drinking.

All you Eyeores need to fix a little drink and calm down or stay the heck out of the recruiting forum. All of the negativity is exhausting! We are about to start a season that has the potential to be amazing and all you can focus on is how many 3 stars we have "signed". The answer is zero!!!! Let the gall dang season happen! Celebrate Christmas and New Years. Then and only then should we worry to much about the recruiting class. I can almost guarantee that the names will look different by then. So friggin relax and enjoy the season!

This year is going to be weird, to see how they spin it. They probably won't even mention the way recruiting is going for us.
