Who is going to be able to do me a solid?

I'm stuck on some of our night games this season. I need to be at church at 9:30 to fulfill my roles, and I can't be worrying about the game and trying to sneak peeks during the service (especially if I'm speaking, lol).

I need someone to do one of the following, as soon as you humanly can.

1. Upload the game to some type of cloud. Post a link to me, with not a word spoken. Game spoilers are like cockroaches in your coleslaw.

2. Upload to Youtube, with the same deal as above.

I'm not sure how long it takes to convert files and upload, and all of that jazz, but I'd really rather not wait a long time to find out what the result was. It's going to be murder, as is.

Who's got some ideas?

I could probably hook you up with a link but it might be closer to 24 hours after the game.

How soon after are you looking to watch?

It's understandable. It confuses me a bit as our fans are saying it's no big deal where we are recruiting wise as big time recruits are just waiting to make sure we can win the SEC or National Title. Hmmm. Why aren't recruits waiting to see if all these other schools win their conference or more? They aren't waiting because those schools won't likely play for any sort of title coming up. To me the excuse is very very weak. If you can't sell 9 wins coming off the Dooley years, I'm not sure what 10 wins is supposed to magically do.

That's because we ain't those other schools.

1. Schools with strong brands like Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, and LSU will get whoever they want regardless of depth chart or on-field success any given year. They've built a strong brand with kids coming up now by dominating for most of their youth.

2. Schools with recent success like Clemson will do well in recruiting as well right now regardless of depth chart or on-field success.

3. Then there are the new coaches and prestigious programs that are selling the future like Kirby at UGA and Harbaugh at Michigan.

4. And finally there are those with significant depth chart needs that can sell early playing time like Oklahoma.

We don't fit any of those categories to right now. In Butch's first 3 years be could sell hope and early playing time. Now our depth chart is filled with lots of good players that ain't getting beat out by a freshmen anytime soon. You also can't sell hope anymore, you have to sell results.

Our best hope is to win the SEC championship and make the playoffs this year so we can join Clemson in the hot new school category.

If Auburn, A&M, and UNC can do it, we should be doing it as well. Especially seeing as of that group we are the only ones expected to do much of anything. Those schools aren't in wait and see mode.

Man some of you just don't get how far the Tennessee brand has fallen. To most 17-18 year olds we are closer to Vanderbilt and Kentucky than we are to Auburn or A&M.

Auburn has played in 2 national titles in the last 6 years. And A&M has a heisman winner and has won more games than us since joining the SEC.

You gotta remember the timeframe we're talking about. Most kids in the 2017 class were born in 1999. They probably have only been following sports since 2005. As a result, we've been terrible for practically their entire childhood. We've been fighting more with Vanderbilt and Kentucky to stay out of the SEC east cellar than competing for national titles or winning heismans like Auburn and A&M.

We're kind of like where LSU was in the 90s before Saban in the minds of most kids. We are not considered an elite program. We're a program that has to prove itself. Win big like Saban did in 2003 and we'll be back to being considered an elite program in the minds of kids growing up right now.

Why do you care so much about recruiting rankings in July?

Recruiting is 24/7/365. Its not just important in late January and early February.

Also how you're recruiting stacks up today influences public perception and how top level recruits and their families see your program.

The OSU back who was dismissed (Dunn) was mentioned yesterday. Not sure if it was posted but he is being accused of choking his GF. She's filed a protection order per 247.

I wring my hands every time I get on this board the past few months, worried about which instate kid is trending somewhere else (take your pick), and now I see the photo with Chandler sporting the GA wristband(I know, don't worry, don't panic), Gibbs has all but dropped us, but I think at this point we just need to see how things play out this season-- this, in my opinion will be fortunately or unfortunately the deciding factor for most of these kids. We have a pretty good crop of talent already on campus developing the next few years, so it may just be us hitting the reset button and looking to '18 to get some specific positions filled... we always fight GA for recruits, but I don't think I can get over this whole Clemson thing... Dabo is a deuche, and I don't care how long it is debated, something definitely shady went down with Higgins...

Auburn won a Natty not too long ago, kids still remember, and A&M is located in a giant state with a huge talent pool... UNC is definitely a head-scratcher

I'm excited about the potential for our best season in a very long time, so I'm out on following recruiting too closely for now. All the hand wringing will start to make a man think we suck still.

Anyone have a list of recruits that were committed around the start of fall camp from last year? So we can compare?

Gibbs has not "all but dropped us."

I agree with both parts, but people that are worrying now are just being dramatic. I think this last class (on film/based on my perception of ability) may be the deepest class we've had under jones. Maybe not the top end talent of the Hurd/Barnett class or the Williams/Richmond/Kirkland class but just super deep.

This class looks similar to last years class with a few more 3* kids and a few less 4* kids. This class will drop some of the lower ranked kids by signing day and we will have some higher rated commits by signing day.

You can tell how hard our staff recruits. It's apparent. They are doing their best, and we will see results before signing day. Recruiting is 24/7 365, but it is also fluid until signing day, and once names are on paper the first Wednesday in February, we will all likely be happy once again.

"Tennessee is scheduled to play host to several top California prospects this week and that list includes 2017 5-star wide receiver Joseph Lewis. Also, one of the top 2018 wideouts, 5-star Jalen Hall, is expected in town as well and 2019 linebacker DeGabriel Floyd. All three are out of Augustus Hawkins in LA.

2018 wide receiver Austin Osborne is expected on campus today as he tours schools in the region. He visited Duke and UNC the last few days and picked up offers from those schools. He already has a Tennessee offer.

Finally, 2018 prospects Tommy Brown (offensive tackle) and Nikko Remigio (receiver) from Mater Dei are both supposed to be on campus tomorrow.

Credit graduate assistant Derek Day for being a big reason these guys are coming in. He's been working California hard now for a while. Zach Azzanni has been working these wide receivers, too."

No, it really doesn't matter right now. Having commits now means nothing. How the season goes is a huge factor, especially in a coach's 4th year. His recruiting pitch at this point can only be "watch the games" instead of selling PT like he used to, so recruiting rankings for UT mean literally nothing until the games are played. That matters 1000000000% more to recruits than what our rivals ranking is in July.

It would be nice if someone told all the 4-5* recruits committed elsewhere it's too early to commit and they should all wait to see how the season plays out. It might be beneficial to us in a big way.
