To the OP: seriously love your enthusiasm. Going from "hey a moron with a journalism degree predicted us to win" straight to "we're going to be national champs "is the kind of orange-istic fire-in-the-belly dedication we need around here! Always be believing, man!

I am SO FREAKIN STOKED for this season....

It doesn't mean squat who picks what. In the history of picking the SEC winner, media days has sucked at it. Having said all that embrace the attention and go out and play all out. Have fun and go get it done!!!! GO BIG ORANGE!!!!

On paper UT's 120th football team possesses all the ingredients to possibly pull off a NC. ON PAPER. I don't have a clue where to find how many college football teams wound up winning a NC as predicted by the same critereon as is UT's, but I'd say the largest number of NC winners were picked by the experts to possibly do so by utilizing the same or similar measuring statistics. Now that UT's team 120 is being picked by a few pundits to win out, then WHY NOT the Vols? If this roster can manage to remain intact...IE to avoid another injury epidemic and/or keep key players from being suspended, then I'd give this group of high achievers at least an even chance of doing so. AMIRIGHT? Negavols in 3, 2, 1............

Yup.

Finebaum has been very pro Tennessee. I don't get where people get the idea he hates the team.

Don't be mad he didn't pick us to be good before this year. We were garbage for most of the last decade.

He was just being honest.

I swear to God you guys are insufferable. You want people talking up Tennessee when we're garbage. Then when we actually become good you get mad that there is too much hype.

Finebaum was right in not touting Tennessee before this year.

This program didn't deserve it.

There is so much hypocrisy and every post you make it's beyond ridiculous.
I never asked for any praise from that little follow the hype wannabe.
As a matter of fact, I absolutely despise people who just jump on whatever the happening thing is. Feel free to take that any way you wish :)

You said he turned his back on Tennessee.

I'm asking you how did he do that? Because he didn't hype up our garbage teams in the past.

Finebaum is a logical fan. He knew Tennessee was nothing the last 10 years so why talk about them. Now they're legit and he's using his brain to pick us as the winner.

Butch knows how to play him and his big ego.
Butch has done so by bragging to Paul on air that he's glad Paul is a UT grad.
And, wouldn't you know, Paul speaks very highly of Butch.

I don't have time for a history lesson.
It has nothing to do with who he picked in games. He's made so many negative statements about UT, that have nothing to do with with winning or losing, it's beyond comprehension.
I don't just follow Tennessee football, I love the university. And I don't just overlook BS in the name of entertainment.
I know this is news to you, but you can turn your back on a establishment in more ways than picking a team to win or lose.
Either way, it was just a joke.

Please tell me about this. Because the only anti-UT stuff I've heard from him have been directed at the administration.

And he's been right.

You just want everyone to say nothing but good things about UT even when the program is garbage.

Nope. We're just both sensible enough to see when a team is bad and when it's good.

For the last decade Tennessee has been garbage thus Finebaum has had no reason to say anything positive about Tennessee. Now we're actually good and thus deserving of positive press.

That's how the world works.

Although I really do dislike him.
I'm also not surprised you relate with him.

I only want something good said about the program?
It's not like if you say something about our quarterback passing, I freak out and go into denial or anything.

Finebaum is relevant again after his straight forward questioning of Saban.

His new found credibility may get him a better gig than listening to the toothless, imbecilic types that call his show.

Finebaun is in business! He plays to his audience! Bammers are nervous because we have steadily improved since Butch arrived and they feel their run is threatened.

Any intelligent person in his position would know they can up their ratings by stirring up the knuckle-dragging fans with his current dialogue. It's all a shrewd script to improve business. Roll turd fans are running all over the state to get the transplanted citizens to dial Finebaum's number for them to rant, and that makes for good business for him!
