What do you want Butch & Co. to say at SEC MD tomorrow?

Remind me to NEVER go to war, fight a fire, or protect citizens from violent protesters with some of you. YOU SIMPLY COULD NOT HANDLE THE PRESSURE. I'm feeling like I'm among middle schoolers again.,,,
Clemson destroying us??? Sit down Billy and be quiet!!!

Noticed that as well? We have many fans here at VN that you would never want to have with you or depend on in a bad situation. Cut and run types, really surprises me we have so many. There was a day in the state of Tennessee you'd have to look long, far, and wide before finding one. These days, must be due to diluting our gene pool with weak Yankee types, lots of them are out there, sadly. My Garrett snuff twig in the mouth Granny could take about half the males living in Tennessee now in a fist fight and she barely weighed a 100 lbs. Tennessee when Rocky Top was really Rocky Top, where our grandmas had more gumption than most males of present day, that was when it was home sweet home to me. Today, knee clacking wet themselves over educated metrosexuals who stood in corners when "corrected." Hell I was never corrected, punished was what they called a granny putting a wooden spoon on the side of your head for not paying atteention to detail or not doing as told. Biscuits with hog lard, sorghum, country ham and sausage, and home of Sgt. Alvin York, no cut and run types allowed then, but this is now.

Just be professional. Coach speak and players be leaders and speak respectfully.

In reality it doesn't matter what he says. Some on here will be mad no matter what he says. So might as well just use coach speak.
i actually agree. the hype is already there. the trash talk from FL is already there.

it's all just bait.

and i'm sure there'll be some questions about the settlement as well. plenty of landmines for he and the players to dodge. i think they'll be fine, and probably a little boring.

i'll be shocked if there's any back and forth regarding FL or the hype of the season.

If they are asked any questions about Florida it would be nice to just hear "No comment." or "Next question." That would get their players talking even more since they are so worried about what we do.

"We haven't won an sec championship in 18 years. We have an tall hill to climb if were going to do that. Every team in the SEC is a challenge, especially Florida. They're fantastic. Their defense is so stout that it will be a tremendous challenge for our guys. Florida is my dark horse for the National Championship...next question"

It's a year away. And with UT signing Guarantano he may not want to face the competition.

Doesn't make sense since both teams have 5* pocket passers: Clemson has Hunter and UGA has Eason. Seems that Lawrence would rather compete against a 4* dual-threat (Guarantano).
In one sense, I can't see why Lawrence would want to go to any one of those 3 schools.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think myself and some other posters (usually the ones you always fuss about) say negative things about Butch?

It's not fussing. You obviously miss what I do much as your kindred buddies do. I laugh at you and them. I watched some on here spend weeks after twisting what he said when Jones said "some say it takes 6 years to fully rebuild". Most of those in your "camp" assigned that to him. I've watched y'all do this over and over and bash the hell out of so many things he has said. To some on here it's like an obsession.
But I know you and your boys will be right on the band wagon when things go well just as y'all did last year when things got on a roll.

Remy, I see you live in L.A. How's that workin' out for ya?

I like this response. Stay above the fray, stay classy while McElwain, Tabor and Davis show their arses. Tip your hat, acknowledge Florida's program and their success last year, then talk about the confidence you have in your team to win turn the tables this year. Bottom line, just stay classy and let the Gators get in the gutter.

So what you're saying is you know "me and my boys" will be more supportive of Butch when he gets better at coaching? Is that the underlying accusation here?

When there's nothing to complain about? You'll improvise and find it.

Gators like to wallow in mud. Getting in there with them is not a good idea.

I want UT's reps to show class and competitiveness, something like, "We will again play some of the best teams in college football this year. I look forward to the challenge. We will have to play hard and play smart, and we'll see what happens."

Actually a more accurate statement would be "you and your ilk are just a more articulate D4H".

As little as possible....

Something like:

"we're on track, but haven't arrived....yet...."
"We welcome high expectations....but still have to beat UGA, Florida, aTm, and Bama before justifying our expectations..."

"We're confident in our Team, Dobbs as a great person, great example, and great leader of Team 120..."

Jalen Hurd--barring injury--could prove to be the best back to play at UT--ever....

We will need to adopt the John Madden pregame mantra of the Oakland Raiders:

"It doesn't matter if the horses are blind, just load the wagons."

I really do expect this team to be special--but I also expected the 2005 team to be special, too! I just want us to SHUT UP and WIN--on the field where it matters!

No excuses....

GO VOLS!

Whenever Jones is done there will be several (everyone knows who they are) who will dissect every word looking for hidden meaning. They will take things he says completely out of context as they have done routinely.
That's what they do and they will bash and cry about every word he say

Maybe this would tell us everything: "Welcome back to Tennessee football D4H -- this season's for you. But, if you return to VN next year, it must be as username "IMnowfullySATISFIEDwithBUTCHJONESPLAYCALLS" or "1stDownRUNS-R-justOKbyME" and not something like JG4H or anything else like that."

ReaderVol if you happen to be watching SEC MD right now you'll see the SEC Network panel (McElroy, Booger, etc) basically saying verbatim what me and KB and fade and all the others have been saying all along.

"Butch has to stop coaching not to lose"
"Butch has to learn how to keep his foot on the gas"
etc etc.

But I'm sure they're just haters too.....
