'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

I remember one first sergeant who while introducing himself to the company informed us that we were not to refer to him as "Top", as that was a child's toy and he clearly was not a child's toy. I also remember the company commander referring to him add Mr. Personality shortly after that. Crusty, y'all are.

What other Tennessee target has committed to another school other than Tee where we are ridiculously deep anyway? Guys you gotta relax.

So because we are so ridiculously deep at WR, we really dont need one of the best WRs and players in the state? Alrighty then.

I'll take Crusty. In the Marine Corps crusty is good. It means you've survived long enough to be crusty. I'm sure it's the same in the Army.

Little piss ants on the internet don't bother me any. If they don't like my opinion, I really don't give a damn. If they want to try and match wits with me, that's fine. I'll crush them and make them look stupid.

Need? No. Would be nice to have? Yes. You forget that we still have a stable of WRs to include 2 x 5* and a slew of 4* receivers. The sky is not falling.

With all due respect, this kind of resonable and well thought out response will most likely fall on deaf ears with the end is nigh crowd

Disagree about need. I think we do need Higgins and not for the reason you think. I think its much more important because he is one of the best players in the state. Never said the sky is falling but saying that we dont need Higgins is a little shortsighted. You always need a player like Higgins IMO. If he was still committed, people would be saying how much we need him. Now that he is not, its like eh we really dont.

Absolutely.

I don't care much for other people's opinions either. Unless its my rater. I have to make sure I impress that SOB to get promoted.

Is team 121, 122, or 123 doomed to fail without Higgins? Would we be successful with Higgins? We rely on projections. For all we know, he could be an All American or a bust. Too many unknowns. It would be nice to lockdown the state, I agree. It would have been huge for recruiting momentum if he would have committed. Do I think our class will be horrible without him? No.

My thoughts, and I am sure most leaders are this way, I only want you here if you want to be here. Apparently, Higgins did not want to be here. Time to move on. Butch has proven that he will recruit at a high level and find high character kids that will fit our system and will out work everyone else. I still have faith.

I'm disappointed we didn't get him but in no way shape or form does it dictate the future of this program. What bothers me about it is that he felt the need to disrespect people the way he did. If that's representative of his character it may be good for the Vols he didn't come here. JMO

The problem is, he doesn't want to be here. I think him loving Tenneseee was just a bunch of nonsense. Would it have been nice to have Higgins? Absolutely but there's bigger needs than WR's. Maybe like DT's, RB's, O-Lineman?

Agree. Clemson is loading up on prima donnas. They may run into a problem with team chemistry.
