I've always wondered how that works. So, whoever pays the bail never gets that $200 back? And is it always ~ 10% of the bail amount that is payable?

I think you get the money back as long as you show up for your court date.

Ledbetter getting released on a $2,000 bail makes me think. How is it that a collegiate athlete getting bail like that doesn't count as an impermissible benefit? If they got him out of jail just a few hours later, surely it wasn't a family member that got him out. I doubt he made his one call to mama and not to someone affiliated with the team.

I believe if it was $2000 'cash' bond or somewhere along those lines in the terminology, then they have to put up the entire amount. That is usually the more heinous crimes though (i.e. murder, etc). And a lot of times, those bonds are set so high, there is very little chance that the accused would be able to bond out.

Georgia DE Jonathan Ledbetter remains on team after DUI; will be disciplined & receive intensified education & counseling, Kirby Smart says

They didn't need his spot for any cousins! :)

No. The 10% is the fee the bondsman charges. That's how they make their money. You don't get it back.

Yeah. That's their payment for backing you and you appearing. You don't and they get nailed with the other 90% of the total bail. They then don't give it back when you show. Otherwise they'd never make any money.

Does anyone have good recruiting chat questions? I'll post them over on 24/7 during their little hour RC

I ignored the TH thread, so if this has been answered I apologize, but has Callahan said what he thinks the reason TH picked Clemson over Tennessee? And if he could see TH flipping again.

The reason is Clemson utilizes WRs better. He says theres a chance but I think he's saying that to keep people from jumping off the cliff.

I just may give up on UT football for good if the Vols can't take care of business against these fools this year. An excellent team with all the motivation in the world to end that god awful streak. Please get it done, Butch.

I'd be saying the same thing if I were Florida. We've put ourselves in this position. 11 in a row is completely ridiculous.

If you show up you get it back. Not sure what fee is charged.

Whoever puts up the money gets it back. If it is a bail bondsman, that 10% is usually what they charge. They front the rest of the amount and as long as you show, the bail bondsman gets it all back.

Same. I at least won't follow it with the same intensity.

I will cry win or lose 😂

The big difference between UF and UT is that one team expects to win any way they can and the other team expects to screw it up and lose. This self-fulfilling prophecy has worked against us year after year after year. Change the mindset; change the outcome.

Hope like hell Butch and the team learned some big lessons last year and remember how miserable to felt to collapse against OK and FL. I will not be able to take losing to Florida another damn year. They need to loosen up starting with coach and ball out. And use this Florida smack talk as material to look at every single day.
