Long shot, but Silva could really cement his legacy right now. Amazing career, but no real signature win.

I get what you are saying, but his legacy is cemented as a top 3-5 guy by pretty much everyone. He is kind of the RJJ of MMA, fought at a time when their respective class were kind of weak, and when they fought contenders they made it look easy because of their styles. They both were obviously great fighters but will always have their greatness kind of work against them.

I'm a huge RJJ fan and I totally agree. During his prime I wanted to deny it, but he was very good and in the right place at the right time....not GOAT convo tho

Me too, probably a top 5 favorite athlete for me. I agree, and I'm not sure where I would rank him, but man that guy was ****ing to watch. Probably one of the most naturally gifted guys ever though.

He also knew how to protect his legend. He picked the perfect heavyweight to challenge. Jones just went a little too long and started getting outclassed.

Sadly he still is, though he is 9-1 against recent tomato cans. Dude seemed to get old and slow fast after the move up to HW.

Yeah, it seemed like after he cut back to LHW, he lost all his dominant speed. Could've just been an age thing.

"Mark Hunt will kill him. Hunt has heavy hands. Brock doesn't like getting hit. First round KO.

Brock wins

"Hunt's a nobody, a warm body. Lesnar wasn't impressive at all."

I didn't watch his fight, was he impressive or just hump Hunt to death?

He wasn't great but he had impressive take downs and got in shots when he got him on the ground. Not bad for a guy who hasn't fought in five years

Well, he won.

Against one of the best match ups for him in the division. If he wants to keep fighting, good for him, but this Lesnar would be injured if he fought Stipe, Cain, Overeem, Werdum, or Dos Santos. Maybe he just needed to knock off the rust. I guess we'll find out if he fights again.

Really? I was thinking that wasn't a great matchup for him. I feel like he can take down Stipe, Dos Santos, and Overeem much easier.

Hunt's takedown defense isn't bad, but JDS has a really good takedown defense, and Stipe has better wrestling than Hunt IMO. Anything can happen on any night in this division, but we saw what happened when Brock fought Overeem. I won't deny that it's a good win for Lesnar, and I thought Hunt would win. I just don't see Lesnar taking back the title if that's what he's aiming for.
