I've noticed very few replies to Crunchy Leb. I think others are finally getting it. Need the level headed folks of this forum and thread to take back over and bring balance back to the Force.

Should just make it a "sticky".... Required reading before signing up IMO

How many 5* players are in the 2017 class?

Where are they going?

Seems like last year there weren't very many.

I believe there are around 30 currently. By NSD, probably around 40.

Of those, about half are currently committed.

Where to? OSU, Clemson, and other SEC schools account for 10 of those.

FSU could give Vols lots of enjoyment this fall. The 'Noles could get Ole Miss' season off to a bad start, issue their annual chopchop on the Gators and keep Clemson out of the playoffs. As a bonus, they could disappoint all those hater Canes who are still pissed at us for poaching Byrd and Williams.

Bring on football!

If that happens, we're meeting them in Atlanta in the CFP.

Do kids pay their own way to combines like the opening?

If so what is really their motive to spend all that $ when they are already committed or have elite offers everywhere?

Some regional camps and competitions cost $, but The Opening/Elite 11 pays airfare, meals and lodging for the finalists.

Top test scores at #TheOpening:

5. D. Felix -139.38
4. D. Hunter -139.53
3. C. Akers -140.13
2. J. Okudah -142.56
1. J. Dobbins -146.76

Interesting

Thanks

No problem. I have relatives who have been doing combines for several years now. The invitation-only events get expensive, so they encourage kids who can't afford the fees to hold fundraising events in their communities to pay their way. They even do this for the All-Star teams, and the kids and/or their schools always raise the $.

From Vq, "also looking good early on the defensive side is Daniel Bituli. He's big, can run and is showing some early flashes. As one person told us this week, don't be surprised if he does not have a Cortez McDowell type impact on special teams this fall."

But, but, but I remember reading during his recruitment that he played against inferior competition and he would never be SEC caliber linebacker and Butch didn't know squat. Could it be CBJ and his crew are better talent evaluators than VN. No, say it ain't so.

Wasn't he the top or one of the top prospects in the state last year, with a bevy of P5 offers? Probably not the best example for your snark.

He is right. There was some criticism that Bituli was stiff and overpowered his competition. Some didn't think he could play LB, and he very well may play some DE. He was 10thin the state by Rivals.

Nice rankings cherry pickings. He was the third ranked player in the composite state rankings, with offers from auburn, LSU, Florida, Ohio St, etc. this wasn't evaluation Magic by any means. So no, he's not right.

And the criticism he got as to technique is not really germane to this discussion, as he was certainly was not some diamond in the rough. What he has done since he got to campus has fleshed itself out with regard to where he plays.

I think LittleVol was the critical one but I might be wrong.
