Do you remember this time last year?

Kongbo wasn't on our radar. Byrd was committed to Florida or Miami (don't remember). Callaway was barely mentioned.

That's 3 of our highest rated players. Not many had them in mock classes.

I could keep going with guys like Marcus Tatum and Latrell Williams that became key additions that were not on the radar.

And remember all the guys who were part of class? Okonya? The LB from Memphis? The WR from Alabama? I dont even remember their names.

I dont think anyone knows what this class will be like February 2017. Especially in the face of the type of season we could have. Our play on the field will have a huge impact on what type of class Butch signs on NSD.

You don't think recruits will be clamoring to join us if we start the season 7-0 after beat Alabama in the Third Saturday in October in a 1 vs 2 matchup?

We have the talent to win an SEC and national championship. Do that and the class looks totally different.

D4H a voice of reason this morning? Good lord almighty...is the world coming to an end?

I'm completely indifferent to Hart.
As far as his mistakes, you could take those away and it wouldn't matter to most fans. I remember the reaction to him being hired, no matter what he screwed up, it was just going to be a confirmation of what they already believed.

I didn't follow it closely enough to make much of a comment, but I never totally understood the Lady Vols battle. Seemed a for certain way to exile yourself though. Didn't seem like a smart battle to fight but, as I stated, I don't know all the facts.

I think a lot of it was influenced by the Nike deal. It will still fall on Hart's shoulders though.

Stop with this nonsense. We have 2 at best in the first

I think we have a chance at 3. Barnett, Sutton and JRM have all been projected at least by one service as first rounders. If Hurd has a monster year, maybe he goes, but will be hard considering the RB class next year. But someone could come out of nowhere like Vereen to.

Yeah I read that, and I also read that Nike said it wasn't their idea. And I never investigated either.
I'm just not sure about the truth but I have heard both sides.

I agree that everything Hart has done hasn't been bad- he has done some good things, but he hasn't exactly been a PR dream either. The coaching search was mishandled at times, thankfully ending with Butch but it was quite a fiasco before that. Getting Nike was great but the Lady Vols fiasco was poorly mishandled. Tyndall was a great coach but that whole mess made Hart look foolish. And it has been said many times that he and Cheek dug in their heels to fight this lawsuit instead of settling long before and in doing so, it wouldn't have been the media storm that it was. Maybe that wouldn't have been the right decision, who knows but again, because of it we were a media story for weeks and not in a good way. And it has obviously not helped recruiting this year.

I've been on the fence about him, like him at times and despise him at times but it just feels like with Cheek out the door, it's a great time to look at other options- i.e Blackburn.

If JRM was projected that high, he most likely wouldn't be here.

Like most AD's - Hart has made good and bad decisions. What most of us don't know is how he has handled relationships within UT and outside. That has been his Achilles Heel in the past along with an oversized ego. The Lady Vol issue is bigger than most want to acknowledge. If momma ain't happy, nobody else is either. The big boosters and some on the BOT have undoubtedly had to deal with that issue at home. It is currently front and center with the settlement and Pat's passing. However, it would pleasantly surprise me if Blackburn came home a year early. It could happen though.

What gets me about the whole Lady Vols fiasco is that they wanted to be seen as equals to the Men's teams....okay no problem...so they come up with whole "One" Tennessee thing and call all teams the same thing..."Tennessee Volunteers". No...that's not good enough though...they get butthurt though because of the name change. It's ridiculous.
