It would be nice if more a Tennessee kids had loyalty and pride too.
It would be nice if more TN kids got committable offers to UT. If we didn't see our staff passing on so many while watching them go to Clemson, ND, Ole Miss, GT, UCLA, A&M USCe, OR whatever maybe the whole "stay home, play for the home state school" would resonate with these kids.
Dude, what are you talking about?
Josh Smith, Brent Kendrick, Austin Sanders, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Malik Foreman, Todd Kelly Jr, Rashaan Gaulden, Derek Barnett, Jashaun Robertson, Josh Malone, Charles Mosley, Jalen Hurd, Aaron Medley, Nathan Renfro, Riley Lovingood, Juauan Jennings, Jack Jones, Drew Richmond, Kyle Phillips, Justin Martin, Daniel Bituli, Alan Pope, and Ryan Johnson are all scholarship players from the state of Tennessee, many of which have had great success.
Then factor in guys like Jason Carr, Victor Wharton, Kyle Oliver, Michael Sawyers, and Vincent Perry who transferred or were dismissed.
Butch's policy isn't the problem.
Yeah, we should totally take all instate prospects every year. Even the ones we don't want, so we can slightly increase our chances of getting the ones we do want. And the recruits outside the state that we do want can go screw themselves.
You have a fairly wide range in quality of schools there. That said, can you list the players you are talking about, that went to schools such as those, that we didn't recruit?
They've been listed a number of times as they all played out. There has been a lot of them. Kids like Amadi, Nate Johnson, and many others. Even situations like Hayden this year. IMO, he should be a take right now.
