'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Losing Higgins is a huge loss. We desperately needed to gain some momentum. For whatever reason it appears that Butch has lost his magic. Losing top in-state talent and replacing them with 3 star prospects is going to lead to mediocrity in the future.

Is that you Nationdom?

He will drop him in the sense if #2 WR on their board wants in while Tee is visiting then he's in. Tee is always welcome back if the room is there. He made a 5* LB decommit last year and he later recommitted because the room was still there. Dabo likely won't accept a commitment from a project, filler if a bigger guy is holding out but if someone like OrTre Smith wants in and Tee is in Knoxville you better believe Smith is in and Higgins is out if they have 1 WR spot.

I don't believe that. He would make room. Either way, I don't think Higgins is shutting down his recruitment. He has been too wishy washy. I do think he visits Tennessee this fall for a game... if Dabo does drop him - all the better.

Let's see how the season plays out. If the offense is more of the same, then he's making the right decision. There's no point in a 5 star receiver coming here if there isn't a passing attack. His talents would be wasted. I'm hoping that the bowl game showed glimpses of what's to come and that there actually will be a vertical passing game this year.

Very strange thread. Normally others are telling you to go away and shut up.

But you almost seem like the voice of reason lol

Ehh.. emotions running high, I understand lol. We are all desperate for some actual football I think. *IF* we win everything else will take care of itself.

I think this is how Dabo handles it. The spots up for grabs if you visit after committing. Maybe you can get back in, maybe not. Just don't ask why if you're left out.

Mueller is also acting like a complete horse's backside over this. He almost seemed giddy over the fact he de-committed.

He has always acted like that. He only comes around when bad news is coming.

Now having said that I have not seen him around in quite some time, unless you are saying he is going under "I love turtles" name now.

Tee was going to change his mind back to Tennessee, but he's not after reading today's reaction to his Clemson commitment.

He may be laughing out loud. Don't really care. He will do what he wants to do regardless. If he wants to come to TN, he will be take all day long.

One of the biggest if's in Tennessee football. This thing could take off and be something special or it could nose dive straight to the ground in a hurry

Nobody is going to turn their back on a 5 star recruit when the time comes. Regardless of their "policy" about taking visits to other teams.

Someone would be dropped in his place.

This is what Higgins said in the Knoxville News Sentinel.

"I'm shutting (my recruitment) down," Higgins said. "I'm committed to Clemson."

Tee Higgins commits to Clemson after naming Tennessee leader in May

Well, maybe he will shut it down... Who knows? I will say that thing that disappoints me when reading this article is that he stated Tennessee as his leader on May 31st when that clearly wasn't the case. There was no reason for him to lie about that.

Not sure how Butch is going to spin this one but he has to be the most disappointed man in the world today. Reminds me of the Vonn Bell loss.

Clemson has an at-best .500 record against SEC opponents over the last 5 years. That's with playing SC every year. They'd finish middle pack of the SEC each year.

They were really good last year and may be again this year with their QB. Their problem is they play nobody but FSU.

They don't have to play a real football team but twice a year in regular season.

Been out of cell range today. The meltdown here hasn't disappointed. While missing on this kid hurts because he is in our backyard, it is not the end of the world. It's like having ammunition for a gun you don't even own. We don't use our wide outs. We can argue for days as to why but the fact is we don't use them. Other positions are much more important.

Now, to the poster that said I was wrong when I mentioned this thread had a Vonn Bell feel to it. It came down exactly like the Von Bell recruitment. Tee trolled the staff, VQ, people close to him, other in-state recruits. We don't need personalities like this on our team. As far as Amari Rogers and his dad need not be allowed anywhere near the UT campus.

Especially when that 5* recruit is one of the top players in the state. Leb is just being his usual self.

How the hell can Tennessee be his leader a little over a month ago and then he just realizes that Clemson is where he has better relationships. This is all thanks to two punks named Johnson and Rodgers. And it casts a huge stain on his character as well if he is that swayed that easily, lies to our staff, and rubs it in our face with this damn video and that article is the salt in the wound. Good grief. This makes the Von Bell recruitment look like a cake walk.
