I've had several UGA fans tell me the same. They think we will be collapse this year and finish poorly (eg 7-6). In my view we have way too much upper class leadership and talent for that. I could see us going 10-3 and not getting to the SEC championship because of a close loss or two, but to me that is hardly a collapse. 10-3 is the floor for me barring injuries. That would be a big disappointment but also our best season in a decade.

That 's funny I was thinking the same thing about UGA :hi:

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of a legendary coach and person, Pat Summitt. She meant as much to women's basketball as any other person has meant to any other sport. More importantly, she had such a profound positive impact on countless people's lives, that words simply cannot do her justice. RIP, Coach. We will all so sorely miss you.

I was very much joking ya Moran.

Pat is free from the pains of this life and at peace with our Heavenly Father. It is a sad day when a person like Pat leaves this world because she takes so much with her. It is up to the rest of us to learn from people like her and make the world better like she did.

Two legends have left us this morning. 2016 has been a sad year thus far, but I think it's going to end with us being pretty happy.

The Wizards and the Knicks are very successful, so yes for Ernie Grunfeld.

That sounds like a winner. I look at pat Haden floundering at usc and Alvarez running off coach after coach at Wisconsin, and I want no part of that. Give me a businessman over some on field legend any day.

Maybe a legend on the field who has also proven to be a good businessman.

That works too. But not JUST a legend on the field who has no experience running or helping to run a massive business.

I'd guess there are good and bad examples of it working out in some cases and not in others. I do tend to think being a head coach at a major university especially in a sport like football in a lot of ways is like running a business.

I met Pat once...at Kroger on Kingston Pike, of all places. I remember rounding the corner and literally having to catch my breath. I'd never been starstruck before then nor since. A living legend, in the cereal isle (IIRC), pushing a shopping cart as if she was a normal human being and not this larger than life figure.

I couldn't speak, all I could muster was a stupid ear-to-ear smile like I had some sort of mental disability. She smiled back and said something like "Hello, young man..."

To this day I can't tell you what, if anything, came out of my mouth. It was probably some inaudible groan.

She was special and she will continue to be missed. Prayers for the Summit family.

Only met Pat once myself...when I was a young lad I attended one of Kevin O'Neil's summer camps while he was coach at UT...She stopped by the camp to visit and actually helped teach me a better way to shoot a jumper. At that age I didn't understand importance of that moment....but man...now I do.

Everyone is used to subpar Tennessee teams. They haven't bought into the new reality.

Anyone who doubts what this team is made of proves their ignorance and shortsightedness. This team is talented enough, mature enough, and deep enough to be consistently great this season

I met her a couple of times when I was about 10, and again when I was a senior in high school. Both times through people that worked for her far outside of basketball.

That was what struck me about her. When these people (maintenance/handyman guy and a admin type person) introduced me to her, it was no different than if I had been introduced to her by a lifelong friend. It wasn't a "Oh, just make nice with the worker's nephew so he'll just go back to work" meeting. She was so kind and genuine. She got a kick out of the fact I was so shy both times. Those meetings were like that because those people who worked for her were her friends. Sure, they had jobs to do for her, but she cared about them just the same as any of her family or her players. You could easily tell that.

When I met her in high school, she asked me where I was headed after school. I said "Oh, UT ma'am! I just got my letter a couple weeks ago." She just said "Smart man!" smiled and patted me on the shoulder like my Mamaw would, and went on with whatever she was doing.

This is the way I felt for a long time but it's changed lately.
I have never used ignore just because someone has a different opinion, but after a while, it becomes apparent that some just like to argue.

I was reading a thread about Will Muschamp the other day, it had absolutely nothing to do with UT. And no one was discussing UT.
But Captain Crunch shows up and just throws some random shot at Jones. I don't mind at all if someone doesn't think our coach is "the guy" but I also can identify trolling for confrontation.

I tell you the best thing, I ever did do..I ignored ol crunchleb and D4H too..

A couple have made the ignore list, you however were not one of them. As for the bolded, I can neither confirm nor deny. I'm not sure about Statute of Limitations Laws and all. Is it seven years from the event, or seven years from the time it's found out about? What about bodily harm vs ummm death? Is there a statute of limitations on things involving animals? What if the alleged event happened in another country, is it still immoral in this country?

So many questions.....

Sorry BB.

Plus, I think Butch is good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, people like him.
