Seriously, only 7? How do you know?
Wouldn't bother me none. The producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss said there will be seven episodes for season 7, six for season eight and the potential final season. They wanted to do 13 episodes every season but because GRRM is taking so long to finish the books they just asked GRRM for a cliffnotes of it and they will finish it. There is a rumor though that HBO wants to either do a movie or a series on Aegon Targaryen and his sisters conquest of Westeros and a series or movie on Robert Rebellion.

This might not be such a good idea. What keeps GOT fans coming back every week is the expectation that anything can happen. I would watch the series don't get me wrong, but I don't think it would be nearly as popular as GOT simply because it would lack mystery.

Action wise sure, story wise heck no. I love the whole story, not just the big action sequences.

As a former skeptic of the premise surrounding Better Call Saul, I'll say that shows like this leave plenty of unanswered questions that will bring the loyal followers back. BCS is dealing with accompanying lower ratings tho...(Breaking Bad wasn't a ratings monster initially). HBO would throw enough money at...so less risk.

I love the story as well. But I think you could argue this is best season based on a combination of decent story, terrific action, and a lack of uneventful episodes.
Most seasons have 4-6 slow episodes with very little story advancement. This season may have had 3.
The Dunk and Egg stories or the Dance of the Dragons I think would make great tv also. I would probably prefer Dunk and Egg or the Conquest but I imagine Robert's Rebellion would do better for TV only fans. Lots of characters they are already familiar with telling a story they have heard bits and pieces of.

I would personally love to see the Dance of the Dragons. I think that since there's Targaryans on both sides, the non-book readers wouldn't necessarily know who will win. We'd also got to see some Dragon vs. Dragon fights (which would mean a huge budget).
Can't believe this season will be over after tonight. Feels like football season where you're amped up for the opening weekend, then all of a sudden it's week 12 and we're playing Vandy.

But the plot has hardly moved. The only stories with any real advancement are the Stark ones. Cersei is still waiting for her trial, Dany is still in Meereen, Sam is still on his way to Oldtown. Arya is finally coming back we think. They did a lot of fan service this season. The Tower of Joy, Hodor's reveal, Khal killing, Coldhands Benjen, but the plot has overall stagnated. IMO
