who's predicting a double digit win over UF

Now now! It's all Jones fault. This jort boy isn't the only one who thinks this. We have quite a few posters on here who are UT fans who say the same thing. Facts be damned.

Jones can get some blame. Like calling a TO when UF was about to kick a FG, then it lead to a TD, Not going for 2 and should have passed more.. The comeback is fully on Jancek

Pound sand kid. You're not even a freaking Vol fan.

Some of us are not afraid of UF. We own them and UGA. And for many times through out the history of the known world, we've owned Bama as well. For those afraid to win...

I wish I felt confident enough to predict a Vol double digit win over the Gators, I see this as another very close game that could go either way, but I pray we break the Gator win streak at last
Go Vols

I will agree with you to a degree but Butch wasn't out there on all those 4th downs. No excuse for that touchdown you scored on 4th and 14 I believe it was at the end! That was the defense that choked in my opinion.

I know how Volnation looks at things, if we had kept it going full bore and have an interception or a fumble, someone would comment on how we should have played it close with the lead. JMO

Excellent post esecially the first paragraph. It seems that many do not want to place any blame for that loss on the players. Its all on Butch. Yet a few stops and a few more yards and we win. The coaches cannot coach and play at the same time.

I don't have an issue with the time out.

I do, Coach Mac is offensive minded. You don't give somebody like him extra time to draw up a play. Especially in a game where he's trying to maintain a 10 game win streak and I believe Tennessee had the lead. Not to mention UF's kicking team is AWFUL! There's a good chance he misses it anyways.

Ain't nobody "afraid" of Florida, just real enough to understand the history of our series. Only a fool would say we "own" them after 11 straight losses and a 6-24 record vs the gators since 1976.

The only teams that scored more than us against UF is LSU, UM, bama and FSU(the same as us 27). All those games were played without Will Grier. Against fsu, bama, and UM the offense was AWFUL and kept going 3 and out so the defense was always on the field. With will Grier UF may hold bama and FSU below 27. To blame the UF loss on the offense or CBJ playing safe is just not true and plain stupid.

We don't "own" UF lol. We won the first 10, that's over half the wins we have over them. Vandy won like 11 of the first 13games we played but they don't own us lol. We only have 1 more win against UGA than they have over us, that's not owning.

The coaches smelled a fake. Also that's yet another 4th down we blew. So no, I don't have an issue with that because the % were on our side. Sometimes it just goes against you.

How in the hell will our offense look worse?

Left Tackle is the 2nd most important position on offense behind the QB and we will be starting a redshirt freshman.

Last year we had a TD on a trick play. A TD on a drive kept alive on a fake punt. The last TD was settling for 3 but UF defended it wrong and Hurd went beast mode.

We scored a lot of points but there was a lot of luck in those scores. We had 7 drives net 25 yards. 4 of those drives were 3 and outs or less. Dobbs showed that he doesn't trust the receivers or himself enough to pass on UF and I don't see that changing this year with UF having a better secondary. I hope I'm wrong, but I see this game being like the Bama game last year or the 2014 UF game. A defensive struggle with one team making a mental mistake on O or D resulting in a big play that decides the game

He asked you how it would look worse... not why it looked good last year. Watch the game from last year, our offense controlled the game for 3 solid quarters.

I think it will look worse since we won't have those big trick plays this year. Hurd had a lot of runs for no yards bc UF had a good front 7. I think their front 7 will be good this year too. I think in big games Butch coaches to reduce turnovers and this reduces downfield passes and even passing to a receiver that isn't wide open. I don't think the zone read offense works well against teams with similar speed, one of the reasons you don't see it in the NFL.

Ever watch the Panthers?

Then you audible it to a safe prevent FG block. If it's against Muschamp, or Kirby Smart, someone that's not offensive minded, Call a TO... not with someone like Coach Mac

I agree with this, but I also think coaches learn and grow from mistakes just like players do. I don't see this happening again. I honestly think that if we get you down, we kick you until the clock strikes 00:00.

I also think that injuries/depth played a large part in our 4th quarter debacles last season. We have a lot of players back and a lot of youngsters with a year under their belts now (and Shoop). It could go either way and I'm reluctant to make a prediction, but you asked so I think the reasons above plus the big time players you lost to graduation/draft and quarterback question, we win this game in a dramatic fashion. :hi:
I'm with you except for the score this time around. Floorduh will be lucky to score more than 10 and even luckier if they can keep the Vols under 40. AMIRIGHT? I've got 4th row tickets and will be rushing the field while Fade remains seated...convinced the SEC will delete the loss due to that title IX BS.

just wondering who thinks its close

10 point win

or absolute blowout

cant help but notice the confidence which ill admit is for a reason youve recruited well and return dobbs, kamara, hurd on offense

plus barnett, jrm, sutton, and quite a few youngsters that should get better like kirkland, tuttle, mckenzie, phillips etc

wr are stacked with talent too but zach azzanni kind of sucks almost like muschamp wr coaches

I don't predict scores, especially months prior to playing a team. no way do we know who will be healthy and who will not for either team.

having said that, if healthy Florida should not be in the game at all. Of course, they should not have been in either game the last two years. Time for this staff to show some balls and lead.

I'll name my next kid after Butch if he can beat FL this year.

Edit: Yes, that's how much I want us to beat FL.

I actually think defense could be the same or better

Guys like Jarrad Davis, Jalen tabor, Caleb Brantley, Marcus Maye, cece Jefferson, Quincy Wilson, Bryan cox, Joey Ivie

Those are leadership guys and we always have some newbies ball out

Watch out for Kylan Johnson and if he stays healthy Alex anzalone

Florida may have the best front 7 in all of College Football this year. Don't be fooled by all the hype. They have talent and a sneaky smart head coach. I'd take a one pt. Win right now.

If our D gets healthy, our front 7 will be better than theirs.

I don't buy that based on how they looked vs Michigan. I agree with you about the 1 point win though.
