I liked how Trump turned Hillary's slogan against her.

The rest of the speech was alright, but it won't have much of an impact. It will be more interesting to see whether this is the beginning of the pivot in demeanor we've been expecting for months.

He's promised that pivot before, but always reverts back to braggart and bully. He can't help himself. It's who he is.

Which slogan, she's had about 6. She can't find one that sticks.

Clinton's "I'm with her" Trump said instead "I'm with YOU" the American people.

Trump hit Clinton hard on her being "crooked". Saying she's been bought off & selling America down the drain by taking millions of dollars from foreign Islamic countries.

I think it was a scathing speech to put a spotlight on her failures as a politician. She's just living off the Clinton name & nothing else.

Isn't Hillary a braggart and a bully, too? In fact aren't most political candidates braggarts and bullies - most just smoother about it. All plump up "accomplishments" to boast that they are "qualified" - often singularly qualified - to hold the office. Most manage to hide or disguise the bullying much like an alcoholic hides his addiction. Both characteristics are endemic in people who see themselves as the top level leaders - whether in politics, business, sports, or so on.

Trump did say he was going to take control of the media cycle like no candidate ever has... and now people are complaining when the media reports on the random nonsense that spews from his mouth on a daily basis.

People act like this is the first time the media has propped Trump up and then turned on him. They did the same thing in the 80s.

Let's just say that he enjoys publicly playing the part more than perhaps the LBJ backroom brawler types. While I could never like Trump largely because of his frequently obnoxious mouth and attitude, I don't see that he is more annoying or obnoxious than the officiously arrogant Hilary. Seeing him as a candidate is an embarrassment that we could sink so low, but seeing and hearing her makes me want to smash the TV or slit my throat - she is perhaps the most obnoxious piece of crap ever to blight visual space and create sound.

It's a good thing we've got a lot of ocean around us because as a leader she would probably make other countries prefer the use of arms against us rather than have to see and hear her.
