parking lot football.. I know its just an template for them to lay surface. and have an idea of where things go. still funny to see the parking lines etc and different surfaces Imagine if they really played on that. Ambulances would be out by 2 minutes into first quarter.

Virginia Tech does have athletes and I think 20 points is doable, with some being scored in the 4th Qtr. I would not underestimate a team like VaTech, they do have players that were highly regarded in the past 3 years.

20 is very doable but like I said above, it will probably come mostly late in the game. I'd say 10+ points will come in the 4th quarter.

And breaking in a new qb, and an offensive line that was awful and gave up a ton of sacks and pressures.

Not really. They haven't recruited anywhere near us or what we usually play against.

This is a big time recruiting opportunity here. We need to not take VT for granted. They will come out hyped up and playing on adrenaline. We need to win this big on the largest stage football has ever seen, as it will get a lot of attention nation wide.

We need to hit hard, hit early, and hit often. We need to run the score up. Put our foot on the pedal and not let off until the game is over. This will pay big dividends in our ability to recruit nation wide. Go research why Casey Clausen came to Tennessee from California. That will show the potential provided by this game.

Being this is a once in a lifetime game in Bristol, this wouldn't impress me as a recruit because I could never play in that type of game.

From a fan standpoint I'm pumped. As a recruit, I'd be pi$$ed.

Perhaps not you, but the media exposure at Bristol combined with the hype of UT this off season certainly will get a lot of recruits pumped up about playing for the Vols.

They may know they might not ever play in a venue like BMS. But all they have to do is look at the sea of orange that's sure to be there and the Biblical butt wringing the Vols (should/will) put on Va Tech to know UT is a special place.

I don't think we should underestimate them, but have ya seen their recruiting classes lately? The have Kentucky talent. Know what we do to Kentucky every year?

They can look at the Taxslayer & Outback bowls to see a sea of orange. Fan support really isn't an issue.

Ah but that national exposure. Recruits will see that, and just like Casey Clausen, it will make an impact on them. Tennessee is playing in big games. Tennessee is a national player, they are playing against other big name programs. The exposure will help recruiting if we win, and win convincingly.

Like who?

I dare you to name 3 players on their team without using Google.

I follow college football closely and I literally know no one on that team anymore. After losing Kendall Fuller and Dadi Nicholas to the draft and Michael Brewer to graduation, I really couldn't name a single player on their team.

But this will be the largest game ever played, at night in prime time (most likely) so west coast will get to watch as well.

I can't find it at the moment, but Casey Clausen mentioned that Tennessee was playing in a lot of prime time games back in the 90's, so he was all the time seeing them on TV. That's what put them in his head as an option.

Trust me, seeing us on Prime Time TV at a historic game such as this will help if we win and look good doing it.

Fan support is an issue when you're at the game, being a part of the Vol Walk, looking out at a 150,000 seat venue with (very likely) the majority of fans screaming their heads off for the Vols and watching what I suspect will be, again, a butt whippin of epic proportions, they'll feel the love. And want to be a part of it.

Kids these days thrive on the exposure of national programs like UT. As well as the passionate fan base that comes with it. Don't underestimate the kind of draw a unique game like the Battle at Bristol will have on them.

We've played in the Titans stadium, going to play in Bristol and Atlanta and etc..
I agree, recruits will see the exposure and the repeating opportunities. They're kids, this kind of hype is a guaranteed success.
Unless we lost. Then I'm just changing my name to wtfvol
