Do you think Obama would say that to Prince's heirs? Seriously aren't we overdue for another revolt?

Prince's estate is getting hit with a hefty tax bill that could end up taking half of his estimated $250 million fortune – and force the early sale of some of the vast troves of unreleased music that the Purple One had locked up in his vault, the trustee for the estate revealed.

No sympathy. He did zero estate planning and didn't even have a will.

I didn't realize you were an attorney. If I get in trouble on vacation I'm calling you! Heads up, it won't be dui or fighting, it'll probably be breaking some fishing law!😁

Where are you going?

We're staying in Clearwater, but I'm gonna fish there, at honeymoon island, and try to find a few more spots. I'll peer fish some, and may go out on a boat one day. Our condo is on the bay, and supposedly has a dock you can fish from.

The death tax is nothing but theft though. It's s freaking racket for attorneys

Clearwater and LG like that old Fram commercial. "You can pay us now or later" :)

I couldn't name three Prince songs but evidently he was very talented. Too bad he didn't have any damn sense.

He didn't have any kids and had strained relationships with his family iirc. Probably didn't care where the money went.

Prince ain't had a hit in 20 years. I'm surprised his estate is valued that high.

I understand. I couldn't name 1 Nelly or Kanye song. Those people are popular now aren't they?

I wasn't a big Prince fan by any stretch, but he was immensely gifted. I guess he taught himself to play pretty much any musical instrument. Real.... instruments.... not a belt driven record player. And also it seems he mentored young musicians as well. I think he was one of the good guys in a sometime slimy industry.

When he was young, lawyers ****ed him up one side and down the other. I understand his reticence to use them even for the most obvious of things.

Lawyers didn't screw Prince. Prince screwed Prince. He was spending beyond his means and had to have the 100M dollars that Warner Bros. gave him. He signed a 10 album deal and became pissy after album #1 (and it's 10M dollar advance) and declared Prince dead. He did this because the first album did not meet the quotas earn him a 10M advance on album #2. Artistic control my ass. I love some Prince, but this was about the money.
