10. Tennessee Volunteers

2015 record: 9-4, 5-3 SEC

Returning starters: 9 offense, 8 defense, 2 special teams

Key losses: OT Kyler Kerbyson, WR Von Pearson, DT Owen Williams, SS LaDarrell McNeil, FS Brian Randolph, DE/LB Curt Maggitt

Post-spring outlook: With so many starters coming back, Tennessee is a popular pick to win the SEC East this coming season. New Volunteers defensive coordinator Bob Shoop had to install his system this spring without several of his best players, including star defensive end Derek Barnett (shoulder) and linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin (shoulder). They're expected back for the start of preseason camp. Quarterback Josh Dobbs continued to work to improve his passing accuracy, and sophomore receiver Preston Williams and juco transfer Jeff George emerged as go-to possibilities.

The good people of Gainesville have hired some former Cuban government exiles and are scrambling the ESPN incoming signals on DISH and local cable so that they cannot read this blasphemy.

No way Michigan should be at #3. They don't even know who their QB is going to be. I think they are better suited in the #10-15 range. Plus they have games at MSU and at OSU, and they will likely lose both.

Those are literally the only two games on their schedule. If they just split those two, a #3 ranking is feasible.

Maggitt was a key loss in the 2nd game of the 2015 season. He was not a key loss by the end of the season.

Three things just leap off the screen to me. Michigan #3 is a joke. UCLA with the 2nd coming of Peyton Manning at QB is that low?!?! Lo how the mighty have fallen, not used to seeing the Quack Attack start out that low, the bloom has fallen off that rose in the Pacific Northwest.

Also, I don't see why the Aggies are rated so high? Didn't they lose three 5-star QB's and are going through all kinds of coach-player turmoil right now?

UT should be ranked higher than 10---as usual, they get little respect from ESPN/ABC.

I listened to it like five times and I'm pretty sure he says "rolling" instead of "going".

Ten is more than fair.
If we are unbeaten after the bammer game we will be #1. Then if we finish out and win the SEC we will remain #1 in the Playoffs.

This. 10 is a the right position for us. It's low enough to let us prove it on the field, but high enough that all we have to worry about is taking care of our own business. If we win our games no question we will be in the playoffs.

BOOM

I agree. I'm enjoying reading of how we're low when in the recent past we'd have given anything to be in the top 20! My how times have changed!

Yea, its a mess there and it goes beyond whatever kind of football strategy they have employed there for last 4 years. I don't dislike TAM but I can't stand that type of football, or whatever it is that they do. :)

However, back to the subject at hand. Besides LSU, basically most of the teams are taking a hit personnel wise, usually its the other way around in the West. Until proven otherwise, the road goes though Bama in the West but LSU has 85% of their personnel coming back. I think there is quite a fall off after Bama/LSU in the West, at least on paper. So... if you only lose 2-4 in the West you are going to be top 20 team... who's it going to be?

My guess its Auburn but only if their offense can score mega points, but someone is going to be there. I think overall this is the weakest the West has been overall in quite some time. TAM still has some personnel but overall very poorly coached and a scheme to me that makes little sense.
