Lady Vols Recruiting Info

DeGrate???

Transfer from Louisville.

I'm surprised that Corsaro went to UCLA with the recent shooting that took place on campus.

Relatively speaking there's shootings happening all over America. Knoxville, Tennessee is not immune either. I doubt Corsaro even hesitated with her decision because that shooting was an aberration. It is not as though instances like that happen all the time on UCLA's campus.

This thread is so amusing to me. But some good information albeit lots of guessing but interesting no less.

It's apparent though that most of us LV fans are living in the past with pipe dreams on our minds. The top players are not coming to Tennessee, y'all. Holly is like kryptonite :eek:k:

Corsaro likely would've gone to Washington if the numbers had stacked out correctly. With that being said, I'm not surprised she went to UCLA. She is definitely a prototypical Pac-12 type player.

Ionescu is likely to go to Washington and word is she is trying to put together a "super class" type deal. Wouldn't be surprised to see Westbrook go there, too. Notre Dame is in big with her. She's a good recruit but overrated. Not top 5. She's good at a lot of things but not great at any one thing. Think Cierra Burdick but a guard.

I think Tennessee will get the in-state recuits Hayes and Harrison. Not sure about the rest.

My biggest want for the class as of now is Maya Dodson. She's legit. Hope we can snag her. Will have to fight UGA, Maryland and UConn. I think she's an underrated recruit and is definitely a top 10 player.

KK is likely go to to UGA and has fallen off significantly as her development for whatever reason seems to not only have stalled, but seems to have regressed. At this point probably not a top 60 recruit. Thankfully we got Green so right now a need for a center isn't as big as it once was.

Boothe will go to Maryland. She plays for Kenny Kallina. Enough said. He hates Tennessee and his players never come here. So don't count on Lahdazia Williams, either. (Hope I spelled her name correctly.)

The new staff at Vandy puts Hayes in play for them.

Her husband got an Assistant job at UCLA and since Corsaro played for her in high school she was able to assist the women's head coach in obtaining Corsaro.

Oh ok, thanks! I've always liked April McDivitt I was sad to see her transfer. At Tennessee she wore her GoLadyVol moxy on her sleeve every time she set foot on the court. I loved her game! And that's exactly what I expected from Alexa Middleton but she's been hindered by ( fill in the blank).:)

I hope we don't spend to much time on anybody that isn't showing enough interest. Keondra McKinney is an outstanding 6'1" player right there in Knoxville that we should offer. If we could get her, Hayes, Harrison, and Patterson that is potentially an outstanding class.
Recruiting has really changed for Tennessee we no longer get players that used to be automatic for us like the Georgia elites. We need to grab these top Tennessee players then try to add a couple of the ones Hoopgurlz ranks so highly to the class.

Why does he hate UT? and why even name Tennessee as a school of interest if you know you're prohibited (even though I doubt that is the case) from going there?

I couldn't agree with you more? If the truth is that Boothe is a lock for Maryland and KK is a lock for Georgia and some of these other players are locks for other schools why waste our time. Offer players who have legit interest in UT and want to be Lady Vols

I'm sure she's a wonderful person, but she should never have been recruited to UT--she was not a Div. 1 player and should have been at a much smaller school. It was the recruitment of C-level talent by PS & Co. that really started our slide.

I agree that Myra is the athlete that we want!! Watched a tournament that her and KK were in and she is hands down the best of those two!! Hoop girls has had KK rated above Myra all along??? All any one has to do is watch about 5 minutes and can make a decision about who the best athlete is!!! KK is 6'4" and you cannot coach height....you are tall or not tall:)

I agree about Anastasia also but not for the obvious reasons....She has two younger siblings that might be better than her?? And close enough in age to play with her in college (or at least one)?

With the Jr. college transfer and probable Harrison from Nashville.... no need to panic about another big??

Patterson is the other real need.....We have not had such a good athlete in a loooooooonnnnnggggg time!
Another Candace Parker??? but I think that DD and Mercedes would stay for their senior years just to play with Myra and Patterson! All athletes want to win a Nat. Championship and this would be their best chance:rock:

I feel the same way! I would love Hayes (for the likelihood we could get her sisters) as well as Harrison (because 2 of her sister were Lady Vols) I think with Walker most likely to end up at UConn and Boothe most likely to end up at Maryland (along with the Wings/Post they got in the 2016 class) our only real competition (and I hope I am right) for her would be UGA and SC (she could get a lot of playing time there). Patterson of course is a no-brainer imo, she wants to be like one of the greatest Lady Vols and her idol (Candace Parker). I also want Ursin (5'7" combo guard who can DUNK)

If we can land;

PG-Hayes
SG-Ursin
SF-Dodson
PF-Patterson/Harrison
C-Greene (already signed on)

What a heck of a 2017 class and one that I believe Russell & Diamond (if both have breakout seasons and we reach a Final Four) would return for their Senior seasons! We then would be looking for Russell's replacement in 2018 (we would still have Harris shot blocking ability for 2 seasons and Green for 1) and there are a few interesting ones in the 2018 class.

1.) Collier 6'4" (#1)
2.) Prince 6'7" (#5)
3.) Nelson-Ododa 6'4" (#13)
4.) Collins 6'3" (#17)

Not to mention that April is a close friend of Cori Close, one of her former coaches at UCSB.

April McDivitt was signed to training camp for the WNBA Lynx after she graduated from UCSB. I doubt they would bother with players that are not Div 1 caliber.

It is ridiculous how loaded the state of Texas is with talent. Baylor and University of Texas really don't have to go that far to sweep up elite talent. I think 2018 class is loaded also. The 6'3" post that can dunk in the 2018 class is also from Texas.
