Florida Game

OU last year was the loudest I've experienced. It was electric from start to finish, but Florida this year may top that one. We'll see if the shakers thing goes viral.

I was at 06 Cal, 09 UGA/SCAR, 13 UGA/SCAR, 15 OU, and every UF home game 06-present at Neyland. I went to the swamp this past year and I've never heard a crowd roar like that in my life. I think we can reach that level this year.

Swamp in '15 was a joke. If you thought that was loud, you should go when they're winning and when they're good.

UT alum 00-04, been to all the afore mentioned games except the 97-98 games. The OU game this past season was pretty loud, but my goodness the opening kick against Cal in 06 when we ran it back was one of the very loudest moments that I can remember.

We didn't run a kick back vs Cal.

why do so many "vol fans" come on here and try and talk up the swamp like it's in a league of its own? why do people converse with gator fans on this board? blows my mind.

I thought it was Heaven's waiting room.😁

Not even close. Anything more than 200 yards from the ocean is a dumpster. Don't get me wrong, they have some great Denny's.

The Florida fans that will be at the game, will have a long ride home, no matter how far they have to drive.

2016 a special year.

Those trolls are respectable trolls. The Swamp is a joke, for a joke of a team. They were nothing before Spurrier and Florida has always been his second choice behind UT, and that's not BS!

Time to set the record straight.

You sure about that?

Seems to me Spurrier chose Duke, then UF, then South Carolina. At what point does he choose UT? :)

It's a real place with real noise and real annoying fans...just like ours. Of course we're going to talk about it.

He wanted to play for UT. His style didn't fit the offense, and he ended up at Florida(second choice).

I've got no beef with Spurier.

2016 it's time.

UT didn't run back an opening kickoff in the 2006 Cal game.

Cal received the opening kickoff and a UT special player just tackled the Cal returner (Marshawn Lynch) around their 30...nothing too special.

Quite honestly, Gator posters like 99, LawrenceWright, Hialeah and LawGator are four of the better posters on the site. I got no problem conversing with smart, educated, witty and fair-minded rival fans....that's how I would describe those four.

And while there are also a lot UT posters on VN who share those same characteristics and are a pleasure to share thoughts with and debate, there are also several absolute boneheads on here (I write this with the full knowledge that several may consider me a bonehead as well) that, IMHO, can't hold a candle to those four Florida fans in terms of fairly and accurately discussing SEC football on here.

What was special about that kickoff was one of our reserve linebackers absolutely lowered the boom on their starting Tight End and straight up knocked him out. That kid could was down for a good couple of minutes and was wobly going back to the bench.

Because some of them are loyal fans just like you and me and they bring worthy commentary for most of us and have for a long time.. They're honest college football fans; not the friggin' Taliban, for Chrissake....

That's incorrect. UT has NEVER been Spurrier's first choice. He and I graduated high school in 1963 and it was well known, throughout the state, that he was not going to any university, anywhere, that ran a single-wing offense. A plethora of newspaper articles were written about this.... well-known fact.

Well posted, my friend. I could not agree more....
