The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Thanks for all the info, guys. The only question left unanswered is the one about the short barreled rifle. What if want to convert a current AR to a SBR? How does one go about getting the stamp for that? Do you build it then take it to the FFL to hold pending approval?

You can get the lower ready to go (engraving, all forms, etc) and submit to the ATF for approval while keeping it with a legal length upper. Once everything comes through, you can toss on the SBR upper and go that route.

Make sure when you fill out the paperwork to list multiple calibers as well as multiple lengths. Once a lower gets listed as an SBR, it can be used for anything you want so long as the paperwork indicates it can be used for that purpose.

Appreciate it Grand.

Well, the sr07 indeed works with the older surefire 951. Here it is on a DDI Ak. Magpul ak mags are junk btw.

Finally traded a buddy for one of my favorite revolvers. Ruger Super Blackhawk lipsey special.
Gonna be a perfect packing revolver for the woods with buffalo bore .44 special 255 grain Keith loads.

Anybody here shot or own a Fns 9. I've been looking at them and reading about them and was curious to any of your guys opinions. Thinking about making it my next poly pistol. Thanks

I have a buddy that swears by them, he's got thousands upon thousands of rounds through his with no real problems.

Ok, question for you guys. If I decide to create a trust and pay the man his $200 and register the short barreled rifle, if I decide to sell it at some point, how does that work?

Another question for you experts...
I am putting together the long range AR that I previously discussed. I purchased a compensator that is supposed to help diminish muzzle climb. It has holes on only the top or the bottom. I assume the holes point up?

Correct, the idea is to direct the gasses in such a manner as to push the barrel against (down) the muzzle climb.

What kind of comp?

Lol. I suspected so. I have my own range and I'll use muffs. I put a flash can on my pistol and it's loud too.

It's probably not as bad as the Rainier Arms RMC (they don't make it any more)

It was a mini comp that made a .223 sound like a .308. But it works.

Boy you weren't lying. Shot it for the first time, without ear protection. Will not make that mistake again. Put on the muffs and shot a few rounds with my son. You can feel the concussion. The thing is totally wicked. It worked beautifully though. I shot it and watched my son shoot it and there was zero muzzle climb. I can't wait till I get some optics on it to see how it performs down range.

The new AR cycled perfectly and the Geisslie(sp?) trigger was perfect too. I threw an old collapsible stock on it as the one I've ordered for it hasn't arrived yet. I'll post some pics when it's complete.

Please don't shoot without hearing protection. Nuts.
